Young-po, I sent an email to Ms. Park. My team checked out the site of her would-be home, and all the findings and recommendations are in the email. Please let her know. Thank you.

You send the text message to Rosé's manager. You two haven't talked since the incident that happened in her apartment over a month ago.

You put your phone in the compartment between the driver and the passenger seat and start the engine. There is something in the way your Range Rover roars to life that calms you down.

It's been a very stressful month both home-wise and work-wise. Kai's gotten a lot better but he still hasn't fully recovered; he has frequent asthma attacks, making it almost impossible for Irene to leave him at all. You know that she wants to go back to work but she refuses to because she insists on taking care of your son.

And because you have projects piled up, you can't really be that much of help to Irene. She says she understands and she even takes care of you but you still try to be by her side and lessen the burden each chance you get.

Work has been a pain in the ass lately, especially working with Rosé: she refuses to talk to you and does not want to meet with you. She doesn't even reply to your emails and texts.

She relies everything that she wants to say to her manager, Young-po, who then gives you the information. And since you've no direct contact with Rosé, the progress has been much slower.

If only it wasn't a big project, you would've assigned it to another architect. But you know you can't because this is a big deal to your father and the firm and there's no way in hell that he will entrust it to someone other than his own daughter.

You head straight inside as soon as you get home. You still want to vape but you're just so tired. I'll vape later, you note in your mind.

Irene and Kai aren't in the common area when you enter your house. "They're probably in Kai's playroom," you mutter to yourself.

You want to check but your body really does feel heavy, so you figure you'll sit on the couch for just five minutes...

Your eyes fly open when you hear a slam. Only then do you realize that you fell asleep, though you don't know for how long.

You find Irene carrying your office bag; she unceremoniously drops it in the study and slams the door shut behind her.

"You gotta be careful with that, love," you say. "My MacBook's in there."

She throws you a sharp look then walks to the kitchen. Confused, you follow her.

You catch her by the waist but she escapes from your arms and silently goes back to cooking dinner.

"Baby..."

"Will you please just go to the dining room?" She finally speaks but she still refuses to look at you.

"Don't be like this, baby. What's the problem?"

"I'm just tired," she answers with a sigh.

You purse your lips. A couple of nights ago, you suggested to Irene that you could hire a maid to assist her with the chores especially on days where you couldn't be there to help her. She shot down the idea and said she didn't want a stranger around Kai.

"Besides," she added, "I am your wife and Kai's mother. Taking care of you both is my duty."

"How can I help you?" you ask. You want to wrap your arms around her waist but you're afraid she might just push you away.

"You can help by waiting in the dining room. Please." You take note of her emphasizing the last word, so you no longer protest and just do what you're told.
