Superhero: Chapter Two.

Anyone else agrees that the most annoying sound on earth on an early morning is the sound of an alarm clock? *cue the whole world raises their hand*

I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock and groaned. I would sleep for the whole day but I’ve got plans. Plans that my amazing best friend UNEXPECTEDLY made. I got up and showered. I was going over to Natalie’s. I would be there for the whole day and tomorrow. My mom agreed for me to sleep over at her house since the concert’s ending late.

I went to the bathroom, but before slipping in the shower, I check my phone.

From: Nat

Rise and shine Blairiiiiiieeee, we’ve got a date with Cody tonight!

Natalie wouldn’t be caught saying that yesterday. Wow, I think I just witnessed a human evolution in just 24 hours. I sighed as I stepped in the shower.

I and Nat were hanging out in her living room.

“Ha. Tasha actually made one huge poster.” Natalie said. She was on her phone, like me. “She posted photo on Instagram. It says Marry Me Cody. Can you believe her?”

I scoffed. “Even if Cody promises that, he wouldn’t keep it.”

“And why do you assume that?”

“I just do, okay” I snapped.

“Wokay. But don’t worry, we’re not hardcore fangirls. I’m making no poster for tonight. We’re just going to check him out.”

“Check him out?” I asked Natalie. What is Cody? A grocery item that we placed in a cart to check out?

Natalie didn’t reply. She just kept scrolling her twitter.

I checked my Instagram home. Natalie was right. Loads of girls were posting photos of Cody merch, shirts, posters and other stuff that they were bringing to the concert. One of the girls from school was planning to give him a ring. That was insane. What was it going to be, a wedding proposal? Some of them started posting photos of Cody too. I didn’t have a choice but to look at it. He was tall, real tall for his age. He had messy blonde hair everywhere he went. Obviously he would just run his fingers through it. One photo caught my attention. He was on the beach. The photo showed his face down to his chest. He was wearing a dog tag, but I can’t make out the words written on it. I tried to zoom it, along with my eye squinting.

“What time should we go to The Plaza?” Natalie suddenly blurted out. Distracting me from whatever the hell I was doing. The Plaza was the venue.

“Uh, well we don’t need to line up. We got VIP and passes right?”

“Right.” She said.

“So maybe an hour before the show starts?”

“Perfect.” She said. “So we must be ready by 6:30 because concert starts at 8. We could ask my Mom to order some take out so we could eat in the car or at the venue while waiting. We won’t eat for 3 hours.”

“3 hours huh? I bet it won’t be the show won’t be that long.”

“But concerts are usually that long. And Cody has lots of songs. He’ll survive.”

“Yeah but Cody gets tired easily.” I said unconsciously.

“And you say that because?”

I looked at Natalie who was waiting for an answer. “Um….don’t we all?”

“He’s 16 and a guy. He’ll handle it.” She said.

I decided not to say anything.

Hours later, we were at The Plaza. Along with hundreds of girls, screaming impatiently for Cody. I thought that maybe me and Natalie were the only ones not screaming or anything. We were simply there staring at the hardcore fans going cray.
