Chapter Five: Not Just You

Blaire’s POV

I stared at Cody. Dumbfounded. Speechless.

I looked around. Fortunately the party was still going on and no one heard us.

“Blaire, it was one of the things I regretted so much.” He added in a softer tone.

“Yeah well why didn’t you even bother contacting me?” I snapped at him. “Instead of leaving me with the feeling that you never wanted to see me again”

“That’s not true!”

“Then why Cody! Why!?”

“Why didn’t YOU try to!”

“Are you seriously firing back that question at me?!”

I turned around and stomped away. Not turning back to Cody.

I found Alli and Natalie talking with some guys.

“You are so funny and-“ Natalie saw me heading their way.

“Hey B.” Alli said.

“So who’s this pretty lady?” asked one of the guys, eyeing me from head to toe.

“Shut up.” I said harshly and he frowned.

“Sorry, I think she’s in a bad mood” Natalie said as she pulled me towards the other side of the room. “What the hell?”

“Cody.” I said and broke down in front of her.

Natalie pulled me into a hug as I sobbed on her shoulder.

“Isn’t that supposed to be my brother’s job?” Alli said as she caught up with us.

“Well your brother’s the reason why she’s like this.” Natalie informed her.

“What?! Oh, I am so talking to him.” Alli said and left to go find her brother.

“Tell me.” Natalie said.

“Did Alli tell you anything?” I said, breathing heavily.

“Um,  just that you guys were friends back in Australia and that she felt you and Cody had feelings for each other and-“

I groaned.

“Blaire, you never mentioned you had a love story like that. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I wanted to forget. Just like how I thought Cody was trying to do. Turns out I was right. We both wanted to forge each other. I guess we were both better of with-“

“Then why did he invite us huh? Why did he seem like a baby seeing light for the first time when he saw you again back at the concert?”

I sighed. “I don’t know. I guess he missed me as much as I missed him but….”

“There’s no But in here, Blaire. I can sense you still want to see him. Or hug him or whatever. Did you have feelings for him?”

“I did.” I sobbed. “And I think I still do.”

Natalie gave me a sympathetic look and hugged me again.

I let out a breath. “And now that he confessed he still loves me, I don’t know what to do any more.”

Natalie let me go and stared at me in shock.

“Wait, wait, Co…….HE STILL LIKES YOU?”

I groaned and sat on the floor and buried my face in my palms.

“You’re just going to deny everything aren’t you?” Natalie told me.

“I don’t know what to think, okay.” I replied, still sobbing in my hands.
