“Blaire! Blaire! Blaire!”

Ugh, Moms.

“I’m coming!!” I yelled.

“I’m going down first. You fix up your last minute touches and be down okay?” Alli said and went out of my room.

I quickly gathered all the things I needed. Brush, perfume, phone, wallet and other whatnots. I stuffed them all in my grey shoulder bag. After that, I walked over to my mirror and took one last look at my outfit. Hm. Maybe Alli was right. I did look kind of different, as in…pretty different.

“BLAIRE!”

This time, it was my mom AND Alli.

“Walking down!” I yelled as I went out my door and went downstairs.

“Aw honey you look so pretty!” my mom said as she saw me.

I just smiled at her. Alli was looking at me like I was piece artwork she just created.

“Like your masterpiece?” I told her.

“Very!! Ahh, you look gorgeous.” She said.

I hugged her and my mom and I headed for the door.

“Have fun!” Alli said.

“Not too much but just do.” Mom added, which made me giggle.

I reached for the door knob but it turned before I even touched the metal. The door opened and Cody stood there. He was wearing a light blue polo and a black jacket and some grey jean. His hair was a lil bit messy….well….that’s what I like the best.

Both of us were also awkwardly staring at each other.

“Um….you look…..” he said and trailed off.

I frowned, waiting for him to finish his sentence. But he didn’t.

“Pretty! Nice! Cute! Cody, use your words!” Alli yelled from behind me.

I turned to her and gave her a look and turned back to Cody.

“Um, whatever. Thanks, I guess.” I said. He didn’t even say anything. What kind of date is this?

“Cody.” My mom said. Cody looked at her.“Have her home not after 11. Okay?” she said with a smile. Oh boy, it was a good thing my Mom was nice to Cody. She was never nice to guys my age. Maybe it’s because she knows Cody.

“Yes ma’m.” Cody said. “So?” he stretched out his hand to me.

I stared at it for a second and took it and he pulled me out. I turned and mouthed “goodbye” to my Mom and Alli who were waving with a huge smile on their face.

Alli was right. There was a limo.

“Wow, a limo? Really?” I said.

“I wanted you to feel special.” He said.

“Cheesy but thanks.”

He led me inside and sat next to me.

“Come on B, lighten up. This is a date. I thought you weren’t mad at me anymore.”

“I wasn’t mad until 5 minutes ago when you didn’t even know what to say about what I looked like. You even had Alli to finish your sentence.”

“She didn’t finish my sentence! She butted in. The usual Alli. And why are you making a fuss over that?”

“I’m a girl Cody.”

“That’s not an excuse.”

I didn’t say anything.
