Destiny's P.O.V.

We just came back from a rather embarrassing mission. We had to do a disco performance. And if there's one thing I absolutely suck at, it's dancing.

Maybe I should've done what my mom did and tell the team 'I have something to take care of'. Sara let her out of it... although maybe that's just because they're dating.

Thankfully, we've finally returned to the Waverider. But the lights start flickering and the ship is making some really strange noices. Once on the bridge, we hear Zari ask: "Gideon, what's happening?"

"I was gonna ask the same question." Sara replies, announcing our presense. "I thought you were fixing the ship?"

Zari starts rambling, clearly lying. "Yeah, that... the maintenance check took longer than expected. The ship's a mess. I had to re-initialize Gideon's alpha drives. So how'd it go out there? Good mish?"

"I pried this cassette from Shorty's fingers." Uncle Mick says, entering the room on the other side.

"He means Napoleon Bonaparte." Nate explain.

"Waterloo." He reads. "Who writes a song about losing a war?"

Uncle Mick throws the thing onto the ground and violently steps on it.

Ray shakes it off and answers Zari's innitial question. "Anyway. It was really great."

"It was?" I sceptically ask, looking at my disco outfit.

Ray ignores me and turns to Nate and Amaya. "Even though half our band missed the cue for our big encore."

I do the same. "Yeah, I had to suffer through this, why didn't you?"

"Where were you guys?" Sara asks.

They look at each other, silently coming up with an excuse. Amaya is the one to take the blame eventually. "It was my fault. I was just not used to walking in these go-go boots."

"It won't happen again, Captain." Nate adds, before leaving with Amaya.

Sara turns her attention to our AI. "Right. Gideon, let's check the historical records, see if everything is back to normal."

"According to the historical record, the battle of Waterloo is back on track." Gideon says, but after that she can't seem to end a sentence anymore. "Napoleon did surrender... And the French forces withdrew..."

When the AI disappears, Sara calls after her. "Gideon? Where did she go?"

"The ship's functions are still operational, but it looks as though Gideon's neural core has been fried." Ray says, searching for something on the screen.

It doesn't take a genius to know who's behind this. Both Sara and I turn to Zari. I do it questioningly, Sara does it angrily. "I asked you to perform a routine maintenance check."

"I did run a maintenance check." Zari defends.

"And maybe something else?" Ray helps.

"Something you want to tell us about?" Sara asks. "Maybe show us?"

Sara takes an intimidating step in Zari's direction. Zari does the same, so they're both head to head.

"Oh, do not make me move you." Sara threathens.

I chuckle slightly, memories flashing through my head from when I was eight and I stole a bunch of cookies.

Ray is less amused though. "You should just tell her what it is. Last thing we want to do is get Sara mad."

I frown. "Why is that?"

"Because... High blood pressure. It takes years off your life."

Zari quickly gives in though. "Okay, fine. You win. I uploaded a synchronous, multi-model simulation program to Gideon's neural core."
