"Lucy? Lucy!" I call as I kneel beside her but her eyes stay shut and she does not answer. A gasp escapes Wendy's lips as tears begin to prick her eyes. I put my head over Lucy's warm chest and sigh when I hear a faint heartbeat. "She's alive." I say and Wendy wipes her tears away.
"I can't believe they would do something like this to her." She cries.
My hands clench tightly as anger floods all of my senses, turning my vision red. In the short time I met Lucy, I knew she was different than anyone I had or ever will meet. She is too kind to ever willingly do anything cruel and she is too innocent to be put through something like this. The Queen is going to pay for doing something so horrible to her own daughter.
"Natsu," Wendy calls upon seeing my narrowing eyes. "Revenge is never good no matter how it feels in the moment."
"I would never want to see anyone like this. Any person who hurts their friends and family, even for some silly law or tradition, should never get away with it." I say through clenched teeth.
Placing a warm hand on my shoulder, she looks at me with soft eyes and a sad smile. "Would Romeo want this?" She asks. Her words shake me. A single tear trickles down my cheek as I remember all the good times with my caring younger brother.
He always looked up to me and stuck by my side constantly. He is one of the kindest people I know and would never even hurt a fly. I shake my head slowly as I am lost for what to do. What Queen Layla did was none of my business, yet I can never forgive her for hurting Lucy.
Suddenly the door behind us slams open and a siren walks in. She has long brown hair and a long blue dress. Tripping slightly, she slowly hobbles in as if she is drunk and it takes a few seconds for her to notice us.
"You're not supposed to be in here-." She starts but gets cut off by a blue fluffy ball of fur pouncing on her. Yelling as the cat scratches her face, the siren bumps harshly against the wall and Wendy quickly puts her to sleep.
"Happy!" I happily exclaim as my cat nuzzles against my leg. Noticing Lucy lying on the floor next to me, the inquiring cat curiously paws her arm and licks her cheek. I smile sadly at him but suddenly freeze when Lucy starts to move.
"N- Natsu?" She mumbles in a corse voice. Her eyes open and a small smile plays on her lips.
"C'mon, we're getting you out of here." I say as I help her sit up. "Hey Wendy!" She says happily when she sees the little girl.
"Hello Princess." Wendy says with a small curtsy.
Once Lucy stumbles to her feet, with my assistance, she wraps the young siren in a hug. "No need to be so formal! I always tell you, just call me Lucy."
   "Ok Lucy-neesan."
   "That's better!"
Lucy stumbles slightly and I quickly latch onto her arm and secure one hand around her waist. "Wendy, do you know where my boat is?" I ask.
   "I think so, follow me."
Carefully sneaking across corridors, Wendy leads us deeper into the island castle. "It should be docked somewhere at the edge of the island. We just need to find a way out without getting caught." She says.
Suddenly a yell calls out behind us and we turn to see another siren guard. "The prisoners escaped!" She yells out for the whole castle to hear. Oh no.
