Raimon counters. Ultimate Thunder is working, they can fight, and it's not too hard. They win the match, even if there were some hiccups along the way.
And then Kirino stumbles.
And then he keeps rolling, further and further, down a path that leads to a realization he may have been better off never arriving at.

This time, when they brought the ball forward, they shot it back.
"Hamano!"
"Kirino!"
"Amagi!"
"Tsurugi!"
And then, finally, Tsurugi, spins back. His foot winds through to the electric-charged ball, and with a grunt of effort he flings it forward.
"Ultimate Thunder!"
Far ahead, Kurama and Minamisawa run forward. They don't look back, not even trying to catch where it goes.
They hear Teikoku's defense yell out obscure orders in confusion– should they receive Ultimate Thunder, or should they mark the strikers? They didn't have a choice, because Ultimate Thunder drills through the ground, filling the air with a blast that sends them flying.
Kurama's eyes meet Minamisawa's, and they charge on.
He scoops the ball right up, spinning right into a handstand and launching the ball into the air. A snake materializes behind him, and Kurama winds forward, slamming his foot into the ball from one direction– and then the next, sending it churning forward with an unimaginable spin.
"Sidewinder!"
Minamisawa sprints forward, dodging the defenders– and catches up to the ball with a foot's distance to spare.
