Amelia Beth Scarlet was an artist. She painted pictures with her words, her descriptive tongue flowing straight onto page. She was highly praised by her school and her critics, adored most by her parents. Amy was the Montana School Districts prize pig. Her life was the most predictable teen-role-model story she'd ever heard, and most of the time she hated it.
Amy sat on her bed. Her eyes travelled across the room slowly, drinking in the awards, the papers. She closed her eyes and put her head in her hands. She heard a piercing crack, and her window exploded.
A dark-haired boy, a stormy-eyed girl and five others stood in the middle of her room. They were panting and sweating, giving each other squares of what looked like gold, and not noticing who's room they'd just crash landed in.
"Not exactly sure if this is normal for you guys, but most people knock." Amy said, causing 7 heads to swivel her way.

The first thing Percy noticed was her lack of accent. I mean, they were in the country. Like the country. Didn't country people have an accent? Then, with a pang of confusion, he noticed how much they looked alike. Same sea green eyes, tan skin, and oddly, the same nose. The one thing that differed was her hair. Instead of jet black like his, hers was a light, tangy brown, tainted by the hot sun. He shared a quick, wide-eyed look at Annabeth. They both knew what to do next.
"Yeah, uh, sorry about that... who are you?" Percy asked, scratching his mane of hair.
"Amelia. Amelia Scarlet, but everyone calls me Amy." she said, eyebrows furrowed at the position she was in. "The real question is who are you guys, and why, exactly, have you landed in my bedroom?" She gave them all a once-over, examining the tattered state of everything about them, from their clothes to their morale.
"Um, I'm Percy and this is-"
"Annabeth. Nice to meet you."
"Hazel."
"I'm Frank."
"Leo."
"Jason."
"I'm Piper. Sorry about the mess by the way. Were you aware there's a monster out on your front porch?" Piper gave Amy a raised eyebrow,  a sort of 'does this happen often you're awfully calm' look.
"Well, yeah. They've been showing up the last few weeks, but they can never get in. I thought I was imagining them. Apparently not." Amy paused and looked over the motley crew. "You guys look pretty beat up, do you want some water or something?"
Percy could tell they were all suspicious of this offer. Most of the time they get offered hospitality, they end up getting attacked. But Amy was a mortal. Probably. And they hadn't gotten a better offer.
Before Percy had a chance to answer, Leo did it for him.
"Yeah, that'd be great. Do you have food? I'm starving." He almost made a grab for the nearest half-empty bag of Doritos, but Piper grabbed his arm and put it back at his side.
"Thanks Amy. I was hoping you may let us stay here for the night and rest up?" Charmspeak oozed out of Pipers voice, but Amy seemed unaffected.
"Sure. I mean, I'm home alone for the week, so why not give room and board to a gang of monster fighting teenagers? Definitely the safest choice." Her voice hinted sarcasm, but Percy knew she would let them stay. Conversation slowly picked up, and Percy noticed Leo had made a joke, because the room filled with laughter. It stopped when a faint pop rang across the room.

Annabeth swung her head in the direction of the sound. It had come from Amy's bed. Speaking of Amy, her hair had turned a soft shade of purple. Instead of registering shock, Annabeth's mind did what it did best: think. If the resemblance to Percy meant she was, indeed, a daughter of the Sea God, she could naturally have some Aphrodite influence, considering the goddess herself has been born from sea foam. Some people, she guessed, just had a little more than others.
"Amy, could I borrow you and Piper for just a a second?"

She led them down a hallway, pulling them into a random room and shutting the door. It happened to be equipped with a small fluffy couch and a widescreen TV. Annabeth plopped the two new half-sisters on the couch and thought for a minute about how she was going to explain this. She didn't even know if she was right, let alone prepared.
"Okay. So, obviously you saw the whole monster thing. You weren't imagining them. You belong to a group called the half-bloods. We are sons and daughters of the gods. Like, the Greek ones. And the Roman ones, but they're kind of the same. Just different personalities. Anyway, I've been doing some thinking and-"
"Annabeth. You just told this girl she was a magical daughter of a Greek god. Give it a minute." Piper looked over at her with a nervous look, like she thought Amy might explode.
"No, it's okay. I, uh, I learned about the Greeks in history class. I thought they were myths. But from the looks of it, a lot of things I thought were myths probably aren't. Keep going, I'm okay." Amy didn't look exactly okay, more like a cannonball had just been fired straight from her brain. Annabeth continued anyway.
"I was thinking, well, how do I put this... you look a lot like Percy, and Percy's a son of Poseidon. The Sea God. Have you ever had any, um, incidents with water?"
"Okay... this is going to sound stupid, but I always could move faster and stuff underwater... I always felt stronger there. It may just be a weird thing, but if that helps..." her voice trailed off, leaving a hanging question on her words.
"Yeah, that helps. Those are all normal for children of Poseidon. The thing is, well, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was born from sea foam. So, I was thinking, with the whole hair thing, you may also have a little Aphrodite in you too." Annabeth finished her choppy and unprepared thoughts with a look at Piper, who looked almost as suprised as Amy.

Jason, Percy, Frank, Hazel, and Leo were all sat out on the balcony, sipping lemonades and eating sandwiches they had found in the fridge.
"Dude. I just had the best idea." Jason suddenly announced, making everyone turn their head lazily toward him. The summer sun was beating down on all of them, a warm breeze blowing through the humid heat.
"What?" Hazel asked, obviously not in the mood for thought provoking activities.
"What if Amy is Percy's sister, you know, because they look alike, but she's also Pipers sister because of the hair thing?"
"Nah." was Franks only reply.
"No way."
"That couldn't happen."
"Are you sure?"
"No. Definitely no."

Then, Annabeth came rushing outside. "Oh, thank the gods I found you. Percy, Amy is your long lost twin, and she's also Pipers sister kind of. I'll explain later. Get in here!" She darted back inside, giving everyone the opportunity to take a long, hard, incredulous look at Jason. There was only one fathomable thought verbalized by Percy, which summed up the situation pretty well.
"Dude. Woah."
