Chapter 8- Tuesday Night Party
Evalina’s POV
“So class as you all know, the Film Fest is almost coming and I hope you all are ready.” Miss Dobidson was announcing or rather reminding us that we have three days to go until it’s show time. My group is already finished and Kelly, a geeky guy in our class, was editing it already. Even though Kelly’s not part of our group, it was so kind of him to edit it for us. So me and my fellow group mates are now just chillin’ and relaxing like the kings and queens we were born of.
“I expect it to be exciting and wonderful. And absolutely no porn.” She looked sternly at us one by one. Some students were shifting in their seats, looking at each other. “Now I’m going to dismiss you early today so you can do your editing preparations.” She waved her hand signalling us to go out of the classroom.
I hoisted my bag up from the floor and exited the classroom along with the other students. I was going to message my group for a meeting when a hand slipped around my waist that sent tiny tingles up my spine.
“So, are we going to check out the movie we’ve been working on?” His breath was tickling my neck as he whispers. “Well, yeah but I think we’ll do it on tomorrow. Just want to go home right now.” My voice was a bit shaky and unsure but he seems to not notice or just ignored it.
He put both of his hands on my shoulder and blocked my way. We stopped walking. “Cindy’s having a party at her place tonight. Wanna come?” He had those glint in his eyes that makes it so hard to resist. I just don’t want to disappoint him.
“B-but, I’m not invited.” Cindy’s the head cheerleader of the cheering squad. That blond bitch was always having mind blowing parties and are only exclusive for the cool kids in school. A nobody like me, are definitely not part of that list.
“I can get you in-” He was holding my shoulders a little bit tighter this time, “-all you have to say, is yes.” He’s waiting for me to say something. We’re standing in the middle of a crowded hallway. People passing by would stare at us. Probably thinking, Why would the school’s hottie be talking to a worthless bitch? . . . I was gonna say no, but. . . those eyes. . . Damn it. He’s doing the puppy dog eyes.
I sigh. I nod, as my response. And just like that, he had the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face. He was cute when he’s happy.
“Really? You sure you wanna come with me to the party?”
I shrug. “Yeah, it’s just a party right?” and with that he swooped me of the ground, wrapped around his bear hug. He was hugging me so tightly and spinning me around. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Lin! You don’t know how happy you just made me!” Okay, people were now staring at us and making me get this prickly feeling.
“Awesome, so I’ll pick you up at eight.” He regained his cool and waved goodbye, re-joining his friends. When his back was turned to me, I let out a sigh of relief. This is gonna be hard. Party all night with people you go to school with but barely know them and Damen the only person who’s going to know you exist. I can do this. I have to do this. If going to a damn wild party just to get close to Damen, then I’ll do it. This is so not you, Lin. Yeah, I’m not like this. He’s the first to ever make me do stupid things.
I marched my way out of school and heading to my red Mustang in front of the school parking lot. Mom bought it for me yesterday saying that carpool is way too inappropriate for me. I hear the engine revving up as I turned the key. I put it into reverse and drive my way back to home.

I’m in my room, rummaging through my closet to find something to wear for tonight’s party. I need to look my best of course, well you know, to impress Damen. After hours of rummaging, searching inside my walk in closet, I finally found the perfect dress. It was deep violet with a plunging “V”; sleeveless with a golden belt and just above the knee. I never knew I owned this kind of dress. The tag was still on, obviously, I still haven’t worn this dress yet. It’s like, it’s just sitting inside my closet waiting for this moment I can wear it.
I quickly striped off of my clothes and hopped into the shower. The water was cold, just what I wanted. I dried myself, and slipped on the dress. I went to my vanity, to put some makeup on. Not so grand, something natural to add the perfect touch. I curled my already wavy hair to emphasise some curls. Looking in the mirror, I couldn’t believe I did such great work.
Awesome job, Lin. Who knew you could do a master piece.
“Lin, Damen’s here!” my mom’s voice from downstairs cut through the air. Grabbing my clutch and putting on my black heels, I descended down the stairs.
“Coming!”
Damen’s POV
She’s gorgeous. Really, really gorgeous. My jaw dropped all the way to the floor at the sight of her.
“Woah.” I breathed. She descended down the stairs slowly, her heels slowing her down. But still. . . she’s like a goddess. I snapped out of the trance when she finally reached the ground floor. Her smile was breath taking. I never defined her as hot, I mean yeah she’s beautiful without her baggy clothes. . . but I never pegged her to be a smoking hot chic when she’s dressed up. I did a smirk to cover the awe look I have.
“You ready, Lin?” I wrap an arm around her waist. Her mom left us moments ago for privacy. Suddenly the room felt really hot and I find it difficult to breath with her so close to me like this.
“Yeah, let’s go.” She was walking ahead of me towards my Pontiac. She smelled of lilac. I opened her side of the car like a gentleman. Smooth and easy. “My lady.” I did a bow and gesture for her to get in. And of course I smiled like an idiot when doing this. I just couldn’t hide it.
“Stop fooling around, Chase.”
“Sure, Clermont.”I closed her door and slid into the driver’s seat. The engine came alive when I turned the key.
“Hey, Clermont. You look good by the way.” And we sped off towards the party. For a moment, I saw her blush.
