Chapter 11- The Chase feat Pizza Bonanza

*Evalina's POV*

The day after that stupid scenario, I decided to go to school. I remembered Chad trying to cheer me up during the walk home yesterday. I appreciate his efforts, but no amount of corny jokes could light my mood up. I grabbed a black t-shirt with a skeleton head for a design, ripped skinny jeans, my converse and my favorite grey jacket. I left my hair go all wavy and applied tons of mascara and some black lipstick. I painted my nails bloody red last night, just to past the time. Looking into the mirror, I felt like my old self again. Cold, brutal, reckless.

That's right, Lin. Strut the school like you're the queen. Nobody, not even Cindy can stop you.

I stomped my way downstairs and grabbed an apple. It's color was deep red, and I kept thinking about snow white. Well, I do look like snow white, goth version. I saw my mom washing the dishes and made my way to hug her.

"Morning, mom." I gave her a cheek-to-cheek, I don't want black lipstick staining her face.

"Morning, dear. You look lovely today." She was smoothing out invisible wrinkles of my shirt.

"Thanks mom. I got to go now. Bye." I gave her a small wave starting to walk out of the kitchen.

"Aren't you gonna sit and eat?" she called out after me.

"No need mom!"

"But-"

"Bye!" I grabbed my car keys and closed the door. I didn't want to do that to her, but sometimes she's just a bit annoying.

I opened the garage door and climbed onto my Porsche. I checked myself on the side mirror, and smiled. Nobody's ruining your mood today. I checked my phone and saw a few missed calls from Taylah and Chad. I called Taylah. I'm pretty sure I need to explain why I've gone silent for a while.

She answered on the second ring. "EVALINA YOU EXPLAIN TO ME WHY YOU'RE NOT ANSWERING YOUR PHONE SINCE YESTERDAY OR I'LL SLAP YOU WITH MUSTARD ALL OVER YOUR FACE!!" Okay, I didn't expect that kind of outburst from her.

I sighed. "Look, I'm sorry Tay. I just needed to clear my head a little. There's something bothering me and I needed to be alone. But, don't you worry, I'm fine. I'll attend school today." She was silent for a while, and huffed.

"You sure you're fine?"

"Yeah. See you at you at school."

"I know you're lying, Lin. But I'm not pushing you. Alright, see you at school girl."

I hung up and drove silently towards hell. I didn't call Chad back, I just didn't feel like it. I don't need tender comfort right now, I needed some Taylah advice . . . and food.

Fifteen minutes later, I arrived and parked on my usual spot. I grabbed my bag, and got out. I saw Taylah leaning on a wall patiently waiting for me. She looked up at me and smiled in relief.

"Thank god, you're okay. And for a moment I thought you were dead!" she hugged me so tight, I couldn't breathe any air.

"I'm fine, Tay. Really." I gave her a half smile and squeezed her hand. She was wearing a bright pink crop top and white high waist jeans, that matched her sparkling hot pink stilettos. She dyed her hair ombré pink, a new trend. "I just needed some space to think and just breathe it all out."
