~2~

The sound of the front door to their apartment opening echoed through the house, alerting Jimin that his father was home from work. Though he was barely coherent, the small boy felt himself begin to shake as his father's footsteps grew closer to his room. As soon as the door opened, Jimin screamed. His father smirked as if enjoying the sound of him screaming. He sauntered over to the Omega, taking his belt off.

"I told you that you should have behaved better, slut. Now, look at you. You're nothing but an Omega whore."

Just minutes earlier, Jimin had heard his parents decide his fate, as they would fake his death and hide him away from the rest of the world. His father had been the one to suggest a car accident.

"I'm gonna show you what it's like to be an Omega in this world, and then I'm never going to look at your needy face again. God, you sicken me," he said as he raised the belt above his head. Another scream left Jimin's mouth, tears leaving his eyes as he pleaded for his father to stop.

Jimin was suddenly shaken hard, causing him to sit up. He looked around with wide eyes, relaxing slightly as he realized he was just at Hoseok's, not at his parents. He wasn't in heat, and he definitely wasn't in danger from his father. Hoseok stood next to the bed, his eyebrows pinched together and his lips pursed. After being here for already a week, Jimin was sure that the Beta would tire of being woken up in the middle of the night by Jimin's screaming and nightmares. However, Hobi, as he wanted Jimin to call him, never pushed Jimin. He never asked what had happened to the Omega. He simply cared for the Omega, always had a cup of coffee in the morning waiting for him, always had good meals.

Hobi asked if he was okay and Jimin nodded, giving a weak smile. He looked out the window next to his bed, the sky lightening ever so slightly as the sun worked its way up. Hobi sat down on the edge of the bed, looking out the window as well.

"I don't know what you've been through, Jimin, but I know it probably feels like it's close to going through Hell. I just want you to know that if you ever want to talk, I'm here."

Jimin glanced at his friend, because that's what he considered them as, and nodded in understanding. Hobi looked away from the window and smiled warmly.

"I think it's time we took you shopping for some decent clothes instead of my old hand-me-downs. How about we go to the mall today, hm?"

The smaller male perked up at the mention of leaving the house. Since he'd escaped that dreadful place he used to call home, going outside was his new favorite hobby. Feeling the sun and the warmth of it on his skin and smelling the fresh air made Jimin feel alive again.

Seeing some of the tension ease from Jimin's shoulders, Hobi took it as a yes.

"Good. I usually go out with an Alpha friend of mine, is it okay if he tags along? His name is Kim Seokjin and he's a wonderful Alpha."

Jimin was a bit scared to meet an Alpha, but if Hobi knew Alphas like Suga, then this Kim Seokjin wouldn't be too bad. So he agreed. Hobi left the room shortly after that, stating that he was going to shower, leaving Jimin alone with his thoughts.

By the time they were ready to leave, the sun was high in the sky, a nice breeze blowing so it wasn't hot outside. Jimin was just walking down the stairs when a knock on the door alerted the Omega that Seokjin was there. Hobi walked to the door, motioning the Jimin to come. Jimin was tense, weary as Hobi opened the door and gave Jimin his first glance at the Alpha. When the scent of him hit Jimin's sensitive nose, he was surprised to find he wasn't entirely repulsed by the spicy scent. It was rather inviting, in a friendly way. The calming scent, mixed with the kind smile the Alpha gave Jimin made him relax.
