I picked up my phone and jogged to my car. I pulled out my phone and called Mrs. Carter.
She answered on the third ring. "Hey baby. How you doing?"
"Ma Sereiya just got shot and Ryleigh is missing." I said and I heard a bunch of moving.
"What?! Oh my god. I'll be there in 5." She said jumping up.
I punched the steering wheel. "FUCK!" I yelled while trying not to break down crying.
I crunk up the car and called Jay, Zay, Kai, Mekhai, and Cairo. "Wassup bro?"
"I swear to god whoever did this shit is gone." I said and by that time everybody was in the call.
"Woaaaah what's wrong we need to slide?" Malikai said while jumping up.
"Fashoo man. Reiya just got shot and they took my fucking daughter." I said.
"Yea we sliding fr. Going to the second crib ight. Y'all meet me there. Justin you go to the hospital. We finna figure all this shit out for you." Cairo said.
"Fuck that. I want to handle this shit. This shit is personal." I said.
"I understand but you acting off anger. Think my nigga." Cairo said.
"You right. You can't act off anger that shit gon put yo daughter life on the line and I know you don't want that shit. We got this." Malikai said. This nigga could be serious when needed but other than that he always acted a ass.
"Ight man." I said while smacking my lips. I honestly needed to be with Sereiya right now but honestly I'm gon get whoever did this shit. With or without them.
After about 10 minutes I pulled up to the hospital and walked to the front desk. "Sereiya Carter?" I said.
"Yes sir. She's in surgery right now but she's almost done. Can you wait out here and I'll make sure to send a doctor out to you guys once she's finished?" She said and I nodded.
"Thank you." I said.
Usually the people at the front desk be the most rude ones but she was mad respectful and I respect that. Shit never usually happens.
I walked over to where Mrs. Carter and Dave was sitting to seen she had her head down while Dave was rubbing her back.
"Who did it Justin?" She said while looking up at me with tears in her eyes.
"I don't know mama. I swear imma find out tho. Cairo, Kai, and Mekhai out tryna figure everything out right now." I said while looking at her but not making eye contact.
I really didn't wanna make eye contact with her because I knew if I did I would cry too. It was so much raw emotion it would be hard not to.
"Ma and Dave. I'm sorry man." I said while finally breaking down.
"I should've been there. I shouldn't have made her go by herself." I said.
"Why was she by herself anyways?" Dave said.
I bit my lip. "I was planning to propose. I wanted to get her out of the house so I can set everything up and now I regret that."
Zaniyah got up and hugged me. "It's okay baby. She gon be just fine. We both gotta be strong for her okay?" She said while pulling away from the hug and wiping one of my tears.
I looked up to see a doctor walking in our direction. "Are y'all the family of Sereiya Carter?" He asked and we all nodded.
"Alright. So she coded multiple times during the surgery and we struggled to keep her heart rate and breathing at a steady rate. Right now she isn't breathing on her own so we have induced a medical coma." He said.
"So there's still a possibility she won't make it?" I said.
"As much as I want to tell you she's going to be okay I really don't know what progress she will make over the next couple of days. It can take her days, weeks, or maybe even months to get back to her normal self. However if she starts to become worse and she seems to not be getting better then no sir. She won't make it." He said and my heart sunk.
I couldn't even process the thought of me possibly having to raise my daughter on my own. I wanted to be with Sereiya and there was nothing or nobody else in the world that could fill her spot.
"Well can we see her?" Zaniyah said and the doctor nodded.
"Yes ma'am. You can follow me." He said while turning and walking away.
We walked into her room and seen that she was hooked up to a breathing machine, but otherwise she looked like she was in a peaceful sleep.
Zaniyah walked over and touched her head and I stood in the corner just staring at Sereiya wishing I would've done everything differently. Not even just from her getting shot. Everything from me cheating to now.
I wanted to be the man I knew I could be to Sereiya but this made me backtrack even more. "Justin son. What's on your mind?" Dave said while grabbing me and bringing me outside the door.
"Man what kind of man am I?" I said. "I let somebody take my baby and damn near kill the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."
"Justin. I understand you upset but right now there's nothing we can do about it. It's all in gods hands right now. You just gotta sit back and let him take the wheel with Sereiya." He said.
"I understand that but why would Sereiya ever want to marry me if I can't even protect my family?" I said.
"Look Justin. Everything gon be okay." He started but I cut him off.
"This shit is not okay! I just fucked up and put my girlfriend and baby life on the line! This ain't no shit you take lightly." I yelled.
"I just don't know what to do man. You don't know how bad this shit fucking with my mental." I said while staring up at the ceiling.
I just want everything to go back to normal already. I feel like I'm having a bad dream and I just can't wake up. But everything was reality and now I had to be a man and take care of all of this no matter the circumstances or consequences. Whoever did this aint got no chances of living through this shit.
I'm going to get my get back for Sereiya and Ryleigh no matter what anybody says or does. Even if it costs my own life. ____________________________________ Vote and comment.♥️
