Chapter 11: Car Trouble

Before Ace went to go find his friends he had to take a good few minutes to figure out how he's going to tell them what happened. What he came up with wasn't perfect but it was the best he came up with. He went to look for them and he eventually found them hanging out by the benches that were near the class buildings. Seeing them have a good time and laughing made him feel bad for ruining it when he tells them the bad news. He took a deep breath then he walked over to them and did his best to look less depressed.

"Hey guys," he greeted, causing his friends to look at him.

"Hey Ace, what's up?" Josh said with a smile.

"Well..there's something I need to tell you all," he said as he rubbed his neck.

They all looked a little confused but were interested in what he had to say.

"I..got caught out of my disguise.." he said nervously.

"WHAT?!" his friends exclaimed in unison.

Ace got slightly startled by their response but he expected it since it was a big deal to get caught. Seeing their shocked expressions made him a little more nervous but he kept his composure.

"How did you get caught out of your disguise?!" Kiki hissed. "Better yet, WHY were you out of your disguise in the first place?!"

"I-I was tricked..by Nebula," he said. "She..She knows what we are and said she'll expose us if I didn't help her.."

"Wait she knows what we are?" Apple said. "Since when?"

"Probably since we got here.." Ace explained. "I don't know what she is since her shadow is a separate being.."

"I knew something was strange about her," Kat mumbled partially to himself.

Kiki pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a small sigh in annoyance. Ace got nervous when he saw how annoyed Kiki was and knew he was in big trouble.

"I can't believe you got tricked into exposing yourself," she said.

"Here's the worst part..Tess was the one that saw me and now she wants nothing to do with me.." Ace explained.

"Are you fucking serious?!" she said with a glare.

"I-I have no idea why she was there in the first place.." he said nervously. "Nebula probably told her to find her at a specific time so she would see me.."

"This is bad.." Josh said. "What are we going to do..?"

"I'll figure something out..somehow.." Ace mumbled.

"You better, we're all going to get in trouble if you don't fix this," Kiki hissed.

Ace nodded in understanding and was now more nervous than before he told them the bad news. He felt enough pressure trying to do his job and now he has to fix things with Tess before he and his friends get in trouble. The hardest part in figuring out a good plan was finding a way to get Tess to talk to him and hear him out. He decided to stay with his friends as he tried to come up with a plan since he didn't want to risk the chance of running into Nebula. Josh and Kat felt bad that he had to fix the problem on his own and they wanted to help him out but they knew he would want to do this himself. For the rest of the day the group stayed together since they were unsure if Nebula had something planned for them when one of them breaks away from the group. By the time the day came to an end Ace had thought of a somewhat decent way to sort things out with Tess so they would be back on good terms and he hoped he would be successful in the morning. When the next morning did arrive he was just as nervous as the day before and had a little trouble trying to relax so he friends decided to help out.
