Realisation

"You see y/n, you're the keeper of the reality stone. You can warp reality"

"No" y/n said with a look of disbelief on her face

"You've seen it for yourself"

"If I could, why can't I just warp my way out of here huh? Why can't I just escape? WHY HAVE I BEEN TRAPPED HERE FOR TWO WEEKS IF ALL I HAD TO DO WAS SAY ABRACADABRA AND ID BE HOME!"

"Because you need direction"

"I didn't have direction at the party"

"You did, you just refuse to acknowledge it"

Looking back at the screen, y/n saw Scott Lang's daughter about to be taken away, the y/n on the screen saw it and with a scream, a jolt of red energy poured from her. A mixture of y/n's fear for her life, her love for Loki, her worry over Cassie all caused her to warp reality. She was able to overpower the agents, giving Cassie time to run away. She fell unconscious when Loki rescued her because she had used so much energy that she was running on near enough zero.

"No"

"Yes y/n"

"What do you want me to do?"

"What do you want to do?"

"I want to end this. I want to go home. I want Loki to stop killing. I want to go back to how it was"

"Make it happen then y/n"

"I can't"

"Well there is something you can do. Do you really wish for Loki to stop slaughtering countless innocents?"

"By any means necessary"

"Very well y/n, you know what you could do. It would quickly put an end to all of this. You'd be able to rest knowing no one is dying by the hand of Laufeyson in the search of you and it wouldn't cause too much of a tear in our reality"

"What do you mean?"

"Well y/n not many people know who you are, apart from the team, you don't have many people who would notice your disappearance"

"I don't understand"

"You do y/n just think about it"

"I can't do that, besides what would you get out of it, you clearly aren't doing this from the goodness of your heart"

"When someone as powerful as yourself performs a stunt as big as the one you're about to, bits of energy are left in the surrounding areas. I wish to harvest this energy"

"You wish to weaponise me"

"No y/n, they wish to weaponise you. I simply want to harvest these small amounts of energy"

"For what?"

"Nothing for you to concern yourself with"

"I won't do it unless I know what it's for"

"You will, unless you want people to continue dying. You know Loki will stop at nothing to get you"

After some silent debating with herself, y/n made a decision.

"Stark what do you see?" Steve asked looking around the building

"There are around 30 Hydra agents in this base, it's definitely smaller and more concentrated than any of the other ones we've been at"

"Y/N?" Loki asked trying to hide his excitement

"I think she's also in the building, but I can't be sure" Tony replied

"So what do I do, just wish that they forget me?"

"Yes. Think of all the innocent lives Loki will continue to take if he continues looking for you. You've only been here for just over two weeks and he's already slaughtered thousands, imagine the number in another two weeks, two months, years. Can you really put that many lives in danger in the hopes that he somehow finds you"

"Right, here goes nothing" y/n whispered trying to focus on rewriting reality.

"WAS THAT Y/N" Loki shouted as he heard a piercing scream.

Trying to focus on erasing herself from the minds of the team she had grown to call her family, y/n felt like her skull was about to be split open. She let out a piercing scream. Her heart shattered even more when she remembered the karaoke night she'd had at the tower.

FLASHBACK
"I hear the drums echoing tonight, but she hears only whispers of some quiet conversattionnnn"
"Look at y/n she's really loving this" Stark said laughing and pointing at the excited girl singing her heart out
"ITS GONNA TAKE A LOT TO DRAG ME AWAY FROM YOUUUUU"

She then remembered her night with Loki. How he'd already had the music playing when she walked into the hotel room. How he told her he loved her. Her heart ached at the memories knowing that once she was done, he'd not remember her. None of them would. But she had to do it. She couldn't let thousands perish at her expense.

Hearing y/n screaming in agony, Loki began to charge towards the noise. Towards her.
With an unholy howl, y/n fell to the floor. Tears were gushing out of her eyes. She had done it. They wouldn't remember. It would be like she never existed. Her room barren. She ensured that she vanished. Every picture containing her would now just have a gap where she would have been. She didn't exist anymore.
