I flail around in the water; I can see a hand outstretched from the pier. I ignore it and float further away. Water fills my throat, my lungs, my eyes sting of salt. My breaths get slower. I an feel it happening.
I feel weightless. Zero stone, like I wanted to be. I've finally reached my goal.
I slip further and further into my own mind.
A few more seconds of light. Of blue, azure water. Of coral at the bottom of the ocean. Of a few tropical fish.
An then, finally, what I've been waiting for since forever: blackness.
My mind goes black. I lose control of everything. I keep slipping away.
And.then.I'm.gone.
