A/N: This is a long one, I got a little carried away, the plot kinda changed from what I originally planned about halfway through and you can probably tell that, it got way more heartfelt than I intended after that- but anyway enjoy even though the plot is a little hard to decipher at times- tell me your thoughts at the end 🤣

Y/N's POV, September 6th, 1989

The MTV awards, almost always a pleasure to attend- the reason I sat 'almost' is because the last couple of times I've been here I've been here alone, apart from bringing a plus one, my husband Vince Neil- trust me, plus ones are needed at events like this without anyone with me, they were such a drag.

Vince always made award ceremonies fun. I went to more of them than the Crüe did seems as I was a pop-rock artist, I did both pop music and rock, sometimes crossing the two together, I was a pretty big hit and had been for about five years- I first got noticed by complete chance when Vince dragged me on stage during one of Mötley Crüe's early concerts, he always used to try and get me to sing with him, even before he was in Mötley Crüe and I usually agreed, when it was just at home or at band rehearsals but never in-front of a live audience.

Vince though that time literally took me from where I was stood at the side of the stage and pulled me up on stage with him, getting me to sing 'Take Me To The Top' with him- the night this happened, Mötley Crüe got noticed by Doc McGee and Doug Thaler... Doc was focused on the boys but Doug... no, Doug as much as he loved the show and talent of the boys he approached me and said he could get me audition with a record label, and if all went well a record deal, Doug said he saw something in me and my voice, he left Doc to deal with the boys and dealt with me himself.

Needless to say, the audition for the record label went well and I ended out getting signed to the same label as Mötley Crüe, I started to gain traction in '84 when opening up for the Crüe on the second part of their 'Shout At The Devil' tour, it was actually Vin's idea for me to open for them, he was excited for it and it turned out it was a good idea as I went down very very well.

As much as I loved my job it got hard to balance work with my relationship with Vince, things happened, I found from Nikki out Vince had been less than faithful to me when we had been both recording and touring at the same time and not seeing much of one another but we'd worked through it and had now been married for two years- we almost always tour at the same time and have the same breaks, that way we can see each other more often, I though don't tour as much as the boys, they tour basically every year, I tour every other year.

I still had doubts about Vince's loyalty to me during tours when I'm not around but he's promised me he hasn't down anything with anyone but me since we got married- I didn't quite believe him but tried not to think about it, I knew he loved me, so I just didn't think about what he might be doing with other women.

I should trust him, but he's a rockstar... I get it... the temptation of women freely giving themselves for sex isn't something any man can resist.

Tonight Vince and the other boys were here at the MTV awards to present the award for 'Best Rock Video', which had been won much to Vince's displeasure by Guns N' Roses-  he and Axl hated one another after consistently clashing heads when Guns supported Mötley on their 'Girls, Girls, Girls' tour and Axl also has, shall we say... tried things with me in the past.

I was here because my latest album entitled 'What You Can't See' is up for a few nominations, and I'd won two of the three nominations I'd received, I was more than happy with that- it was more than I was expecting.
