"This is harder than I thought it would be," Yara took in a breath, her chest tight.
As she walked up the wooden made steps of his home, her breathing grew heavier and heavier. She'd known this man her whole life, they'd nearly went through hell together, and still facing him always made her nervous.
Olivia kept her voice steady as she read off the last bits of the ending of her short story. Her boss, co-workers and many others whom been waiting on the story, watched with intrigued eyes.
But off to the side, her boyfriend looked over at her, a small grin on his face.
As her hand shook lightly , she caressed his face.
"I'm sorry."
He shook his head, smiling down at her, "you're here now, aren't you?"
Grinning, she pressed her forehead against his.
"And from now on...I'll always be here. No matter what. Whether danger is coming our way or not, I'll never leave your side."
She promised him. His heart fluttered at the sound of her words. The words he'd wanted to hear since the day he'd asked her to stay by his side.
"Always?"
"Always and forever."
He didn't need to hear anything else.
His whole life he'd been running. Never finding anywhere to call home.
But right now, he could say...he was finally at home.
Olivia's lips curled into a slight smile when she heard the claps and cheers. Looking in the crowd, she saw her three biggest fans, her two best friends
and the love of her life. The man who'd helped her bring this story to life.
After receiving the kind words from many people in the crowd, she walked over to the small group.
"I'm proud of you." Sasha whispered, her voice soft.
"Thank you," Olivia pulled her in for a hug, her arms wrapping around her tightly.
"After all the complaining I had to hear from your ass, you better be the one to be signed." Olivia laughed.
"I know that's right," Nick cut in, giving her a soft smile.
"Thanks," Olivia mouthed, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I love you both."
"We love you too."
"Well," Sasha perked up.
"I'm about to head to the mini bar," she sang, "see y'all later."
Olivia shook her head.
"And imma join her," Nick danced, striding right behind Sasha. Spencer and Olivia shared a light laugh. After the two friends were gone, she turned to her boyfriend, smiling bright.
"I'm proud of you," he pulled her in, bringing her lips to his.
"I'm proud of myself...I honestly didn't know if I had it in me."
"I did. You've always had in you..." he reassured.
"You just needed that push."
She nodded, half-smiling, "and thank you for giving me that push."
"Anytime."
