𝚅𝚘𝚝𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚢𝚊 𝚜𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚜!

7 days until the conflict

It was a normal day. Nothing unusual. Except Kokonoi found himself stood at the foot of an apartment building, the same one (l/n)(y/n) lived in. He wasn't sure exactly where she lived so he hoped that if he stayed nearby he'd eventually run into the girl.

And just as he had hoped, he did. The girl with (h/c) walked down the stairs and as soon as he caught her eyes a grin spread across her face "Koko~" she called out to him-as if he hadn't already seen her-and bounced forward. "You here for me?"

"No I'm here for the view" he pointed towards the construction site with vehicles and building materials scattered around across the street. It certainly wasn't a pretty sight.

"Hmm, well what's so urgent that you need discuss it with me right now? Or did you simply wish to see yours truly?" He could tell she was mocking him, after all he's not stupid.

"You need to call it off" he stuffed his hands in his pockets and wore a serious expression that contradicted the grin on the girls face.

(Y/n) didn't need him to tell her what he's talking about "And why must I do that?"

"Taiju's planning to kill you" he said but he didn't expect (y/n) to react with a laugh.

"I know" she started walking and gestured for Kokonoi to follow her which he did without hesitation. "Taiju's to much of an idiot to realise that my having a reason to kill him is the reason I'll win. He's too full of himself and has no real motivation."

What Kokonoi felt by being in (y/n)'s presence could only be described as powerful. She was fun but serious at the same time and if she needed to she could be scary. She's the kind of person he didn't want to be his enemy, though considering the fact he's a black dragon does that make them enemies?

The thought of her being his enemy and hating him bothered him and the words she said at the convenience store the other day played in his mind "You're also responsible for my sister, Reiko's death"

She said that he's responsible for her sisters death, so does that mean she hates him? After he looked at the smile on her face as she made small talk tells him that she doesn't hate him.

After a while of walking and talking about whatever came to mind a small cafe made (y/n) stop in her tracks. "That place is new" she muttered "hey Koko let's get something from here"

Kokonoi gave her a quizzical look before shrugging and proceeding to hold the door open for his companion.

The cafe was a small place with only a few other customers, a bookshelf covering the far wall and tables with cushioned seats separated with white dividers that had small plant pots across the top. It was a really cute cafe with a cozy atmosphere, not the kind of place where you'd expect to find a money obsessed elite guard captain and a girl who's planning murder but I guess that's the world we live in.

Kokonoi wasn't used to going to small, cute cafes but he could tell (y/n) enjoyed it "what are you getting Koko?"

He glanced at the menu but nothing particularly stood out to him "I guess I'll just get the same as you"

She smiled and walked to the counter, he watched her speaking to the employee and handing them the money. He hadn't noticed but (y/n)'s movements are very soft and perfect, she almost seems graceful. It was strangely beautiful to him and he realised that the (h/c) haired girl was actually extremely beautiful.

Kokonoi only realised he'd been staring at her when she turned around and took a seat at the table again. "So, what is it I'm getting?" He asked.

"A (f/flavour) milkshake with extra whipped cream and sprinkles." She explained excitedly. He smiled and sighed to himself.

The two of them conversed about anything and everything until a waiter placed the two drinks in front of them. "Woah~ these look amazing" she clapped her hands together and said a quick thank you then took a sip from the straw. She hummed in delight and licked her lips. Kokonoi also took a sip of his drink, he may not have had a dopey smile on his face like (y/n) but he did at least enjoy the flavour of the sweet drink.

"You know it's nice seeing you in something other than your uniform," (y/n) said while she pointed her spoon at Kokonoi "you're always wearing it, don't get me wrong it looks good on you but I do hate black dragons" she took another spoonful of cream into her mouth and hummed again.

He ignored the compliment and the fact it made his heart slip a beat.

"So does that mean you hate me?" He had that question on his mind but couldn't ask, though now felt like the perfect time.

She thought about it for a moment which made the black haired male feel uncomfortable. "I don't think so"

I don't think so?

That's vague. So that means she could hate him? Is she undecided?

"You're nice and I like hanging out with you but it just plays in my mind about what happened to Rei" she frowned for the first time that day. "The fact that you'll end up being against me during the conflict does bother me"

They were both thinking the exact same thing, he's a higher up in the black dragons so there's no way he can just sit this one out.

"Hey, I'll tell my girls to make sure they don't hit you and your blonde friend to hard."

Her laugh.

Kokonoi hadn't realised it before but it's just as beautiful as she is, it made him also laugh a little. Her laugh also sounded familiar, in fact it wasn't the only thing about her that felt familiar. Her smile, her kindness, her humour. It all reminded him of someone he had longed to forget.
