That is how long (l/n)(y/n) had spent locked up.
After she was sent to juvie, Kokonoi didn't visit her once, just as she had wanted. In fact no one visited her, not even her parents. This didn't surprise her though. What parents would want to visit their child who had murdered someone and had done similar things in the past? Well certainly not (y/n)'s.
The metal door was opened and she walked to the gate with an armed prison guard by her side and nothing but the clothes she was wearing and a small bag. She was finally released after her sentence. As expected, no one was waiting for her outside the gate. She laughed at herself for secretly hoping that Kokonoi or even Mikey would be there to pick her up, but alas she would have to make the journey home alone. Not that she had anywhere to go. The only thing her parents had sent her while she was locked up was a letter saying not to return home and that they had sold all of her belongings. They told her that she was no longer their daughter and that if it were their choice she'd spend the rest of her life rotting in a dingy old cell. That or they'd have her sentenced to death.
Clearing all that from her mind she exited through the gate and out of the prison. Once she had stepped into freedom she looked up at the clear blue sky and took a deep breath. She had been outside in the yard plenty of times during her sentence but now that she was released the air suddenly felt fresher and more pure.
She walked through the streets for a few hours until she finally made it to a cemetery and stopped in front of a stone with (f/n)'s family name inscribed on its surface. There were some wilted flowers left leaning against the carved out stone.
"I'm sorry (f/n), I don't have any flowers to give you or any incense to light" the (h/c) haired girl knelt down in front of the memorial stone. "And I wasn't able to make it to your funeral either, damn I'm such a bad friend...
"Ugh What do I say? Jeez I've never done this before. Umm, well I'd like to say I've been doing good but exactly how can I be good while I'm locked in a cell heh. Though I guess it's my own fault for putting myself in there huh?"
(Y/n) looked at her hands that were clasped together together on her lap and took a deep breath as she wiped a tear that had rolled down her cheek and the cherry blossoms fell all around her. While spring was supposed to represent renewal and new beginnings, (y/n) couldn't just simply restart, not after what she had done and what she had dragged others into. It was all her fault. She closer here eyes and put both of her hands together.
After saying a few more words she stood up and said one final thing before leaving "goodbye, (f/n)."
(Y/n) began walking towards the exit to the cemetery when her eyes landed on another memorial stone with the name 'Shiba' carved out onto it. After a second of consideration she walked over to the stone and said "I'm sorry, I guess I was wrong to do that. You were wrong to kill Reiko but I didn't think it through and I made people suffer because of my selfishness."
