(Starting here, the rest of the story will **partially** be told from Yuuta's point of view. Mostly for when's he's thinking/inner monologuing but sometimes it will be for speaking.)
I was taken to Academy Island with the other students by helicopter.
Pilot: Attention new Duel Academy students if you look out your window you will see your new home away from home. I know you're excited but do not push and shove as we exit the aircraft upon landing. Next stop Academy Island.

As we began our decent I thought to myself about my home, why I had snuck my way into the Academy, and if I'd fine anyone who has the true spirit of a duelist to help me.
Upon arrival I was given a red jacket and red boots and told until my paperwork was found, I would be in Slifer Red. I was ok with that, especially since red's my favorite color. Since the uniforms were partially optional though, I wore my regular outfit since it match the dorm colors.

On the flight, I made friends with a little guy named Cyrus who ended up in Slifer as well. I had also made friends with a British guy named Bastion, but he ended up in Ra Yellow.
After being greeted by Chancellor Shepherd, Cyrus, and I got settled into our new room. The dorm didn't look like much though.

On our way into our room, a big guy greeted us. He said his name was Chummely and he told us how Slifer Reds were the bottom of the barrel and treated unfairly. In fact it got so bad Chummely was leaving the academy because of it, well that and he had been offered a job at Industrial Illusions. When he said that he was hired by the company that made the game I was shocked to say the least. It appears that the creator of Duel Monsters himself, Maxamillion Pegasus wanted Chummely to be his new card artist.
