Percy's PoV
I am having sentry duty when the messenger gave me a package. From home, he said. I opened it.

A cigar, tobaccos, and crackers are there. Together with a letter.

'To Sergeant Percy Jackson, BEF, Ypres Salient
From William Jackson-Blofis
Hey, brother. How's life in the trench? Honestly, The Times could use your story. But that's not why I wrote to you. I got a daughter. I named her Sally, like mom. Sally Jackson. Your niece. Here in London it's pretty busy. Zeppelin rarely reached the city center, but a lot of bombs are dropped by the Thames. The military is developing a new vehicle. They named it Tank. Pretty ridiculous right? But it is huge. Got a cannon and a machinegun. They got a prototype, called the Mark I. Why Mark, I don't know. Your regiment seems pretty lucky. Hospitals in London are filled with casualties from other parts of Ypres salient. I heard about your bravery. Tell Jason I say hi.
Your brother, William Jackson-Blofis.'

I got a niece. I got a NIECE. I got a niece! Awesome. Really awesome. Now I got a new spirit. I will try to live for her. If not, then I will fight to keep my brother's family and my stepdad safe. I vow. I vow this on my life.

Sorry for killing Percy's mom, but it's necessary. Please don't kill me. Please. Especially for next chapter (someone's death).
