This morning you had screamed at the first thing you saw when you switched on the table-lamp.

Screaming, gibbering, crying, you name it. Last night had been nothing but a bad dream, but one way too realistic.

Lynda naturally ridiculed you for it at first but then showed her compassion by making you both breakfast; something she seldomnly did herself.

You thanked her for the French toast and bacon, feeling emberrassed over making such a big deal out of something as silly as a nightmare.

It was during breakfast that Lynda informed you of her plans with Bob.

Usually you couldn't care less about whatever the fuck they did, but now that they were planning to spend a night at the notorious Myers' house for the thrill of it, you were on high alert.

Not her boyfriend's sake, but for Lynda's. Even though the odds of something happening were relatively small.

"Don't you think this is a bad idea, Lynda?" You threaded carefully, sipping from your juice. "Why would you wanna go there anyways?"

She scoffed. "Psh, so many people do it. Bob just wanted to check it out. Just come along."

Over the years, that house had become a tourist attraction for youngsters. Neighborhood kids even talked of a ghost from the sister long dead, walking through the house at night.

"No thanks."

"Please?"

"No."

"Pretty pleaaase?"

"God, you're just like Annie! But no, it's not happening. You're not getting me into that house."

"But why not? Lynda whined childishly. "Is it because of Bob? I'll tell him to leave you alone if you join us! Annie's not coming."

Because Annie actually had a brain.

Though, the prospect of Simms finally getting off your case sparked a newfound interest in you. "You'll really get him to leave me alone?"

"I promise."

You bit your lips, thinking hard. You knew that it was no use to try and talk the girl out of it. "Every time I let you two talk me into something, I live to regret it..."

Lynda smirked. "Baby, without us, you'd die of boredom."

Fast forward until evening fell, the three of you walking down the nearly desolate street.

The wind made the few remaining leaves on the trees rustle slightly, and many red and orange leaves swirling around you, Lynda and Bob, who were being grossly romantic by eating each other up.

Already, you were having second thoughts due to the lack of people around you.

No rowdy teenagers driving around to house parties. No kids playing along the sidewalks. No old ladies walking their dogs.

It was all really quiet around this part of town.

"There it is!" Bob whistled, dragging Lynda towards the towering structure by the hand.

The front yard was tangled with overgrown weeds and vines, a pathway lined with broken stones leading to the front of it.

A lone street lamp cast a dim, yellow light on the features of the house, reflecting off the broken shards of one of the windows that had an old, ripped curtain blowing from the second-story window.

Squinting, you thought you'd a shadow passing by the window, but it alinked by too quickly for you to make anything out of it.

"That's Judith's room," the jock commented as if he were admiring a joy ride and not a room where a murder took place.
