Lizzie stayed here for a while until her parents picked us up to eat dinner at their place. Adriana cooked something Italian that I'm not able to spell but all I can say is that it tastes delicious.
Keenan is just 'recovering' from the laugh he just had because of me not being able to spell 'Tagliatelle' in proper italian. I'm sure I'll get my revenge as soon as I cook my first spanish meal and will let him spell it.
Well- I would have to be able to cook first..
Aiden is pretty okay too. He really doesn't treat me like I'm a student. He and Keenan have an amazing friendship and you can see the adoration Keenan holds for his little sister.
Adriana is amazing. It feels like I have known her for so long already even tho it hasn't even been a day yet. And Lizzie? Lizzie is by far the cutest little human I ever met.
Another few minutes have passed, and I felt that Adriana had something to say. Aiden and her always held this awkward eye contact until he finally cleared his throat, what caused Keenan to look at them.
"We have to tell you something." He says. Aiden grabs his girlfriends hand on the table and gives it a squeeze. "I'm pregnant." Adriana says.
I know that Keenan adores his family. I know it because of his daily calls to his mother in italy and him telling me that his family means everything to him.
So because of this, I would've expected him to jump up and tell them how happy he is for them. Instead, he just stares at the table. "Congratulations, you two." I say, kind of hoping for him to return the wishes.
"Congratulations." He says just above a whisper. He strokes his flat palms over his thighs with pretty much pressure. "Excuse me for a moment, please." He says before he gets up and storms out of the hut.
We can see him standing on the veranda. He has both his hands on his neck and stares up to the ceiling, letting out controlled breaths, the air he blows out becoming smoke due to the cold weather outside.
I see him fighting his tears back. I see he's hurting. I want to help him.
"I'll go." Adriana tells us, gets herself a coat from the hanger and walks outside to her brother, pulling him into a hug.
He holds onto her as if his life depends on it. Big tears storming out of his eyes and onto the shoulder of her coat where his head lays.
All I can read from his lips when he talks is 'I'm sorry. I'm so sorry'. Adriana has her hands in his hair, trying to calm him down, also crying. It breaks me so much to see him like this.
"Why is uncle Keenan crying, daddy?" Lizzie asks from the hallway. "You should be asleep, baby." "I had a nightmare." She tells Aiden who is the only one that still sits with me on a table. He looks at me and excuses himself before he leaves with his daughter.
Taking another sip of my wine, I look out the window again and see her wiping the tears from his face before they come back in. "Where's Aiden?" He asks me. "He got Lizzie to bed." Keenan nods, puts on his coat and fishes out the keys.
"I'm going. I'll give you the keys so you can stay with Driana for a little while longer, alright?" Adriana and I both look at each other, and she understands what I'm trying to tell her.
"I'll come with you." I say. "Uh, yeah. I wanted to go take a bath anyway. Good night you two." She says before she hugs her brother one last time and then me.
Keenan grabbed my hand as soon as we were outside the hut as if we had a long walk ahead of us even though it only takes us like ten seconds to our hut.
He's been quiet this whole time. I was brushing my teeth and getting myself ready for bed when he got into the bathroom, got out of his clothes and took a shower.
A long shower. So long that he just came out when I was already about to drift to sleep. He stopped in the doorframe when he saw me and the dark room.
Keenan put on some clothes as quiet as possible, because he doesn't want to wake me up. My body isn't fully tucked in, so he gets into bed himself, puts the blanket fully on top of me, slips one arm of his under me to slide me close to him and kisses my head. "You're so fucking beautiful. I hope you know that." He whispers.
I'm sure that he wouldn't have said that if he would know that I'm still awake.
I said I am far away from developing feelings for this man. Turns out it's not that far away anymore.
Because I already fell for him without really noticing it.
This is going to end in tears. Eliana predicted it.

Being woken up by kisses being placed all over my face, I open my eyes and am met with a way happier looking Keenan. "Morning." He says. I stretch my whole body and yawn long before he talks again.
"You, Lizzie and I are going to build a snowman. Aiden and Adriana are going shopping." I can't remember the last time I've built a snowman. But I'm excited. So I put on my warm clothes and get outside with them. But before that I took another pregnancy test. It's been negative. I'm not pregnant.
Lizzie picked a place right in front of our hut and we got to work right after that.
We've been building for some thime when I feel a snowball being thrown on my back, Lizzie cracking up from laughing next to me and Keenan doing the same thing from behind me.
So I turn around and see him already forming his next ball, ready to throw it at me. "Oh, just wait." I mumble, get some snow from the ground and throw it at him. Lizzie decided to be in my team so right now we're both attacking him.
We both run to him and tackle him down. I'm laying in top of him, our faces not even an inch apart. He looks me in the eyes, smiles lightly before he kisses me and leaves Lizzie cringe next to us.
