Chapter 13 - Pati-Patni

{I know I said this would be the last chapter but it's not}

At college

Sai's friends were discussing their study plans for the afternoon. Sai completely forgot that they were supposed to study as a group that evening. But she actually didn't want to go with them...she just wanted to go back home to Virat as soon as she could. She blushed at even the thought of him.

Sai (in her mind): Sai tu pagal hai kya. Padhai karni hai tumhe. Pyaar tujhe doctor nahi banegi (She scolded herself)

(Sai are you crazy? You have to study. Love will not make you a doctor)

Sai (in her mind): Pyaar? (She blushed at the thought)

(Love?)

She never thought there'd be a day when she would say she loved him.

Sonam: Sai?? Kaha khoyi hui hai?

(Sai?? Where are you lost?)

Sai: Kuch nahi (She said defensively)

(It's nothing)

Bani: Oh ho. Apni KJ ki yaadon mein khoyi hui hai? (She teased)

(Oh ho. Are you lost in the memories of your "KJ"?)

Sai rolled her eyes trying not to smile.

Rohit: Tum log point pe aa jao na. (He said annoyed)

(You all come to the point)

Rohit: Hum sab aaj shaam park ja rahe hai?

(Are we all going to the park this evening?)

Everyone agreed. Sai agreed but reluctantly.

When her friends left, she called Virat. She was a little nervous

The phone conversation

Virat: Sai

Sai: Virat sir...vo aaj main thodi der aa jaungi. College ke baad apne doston ke saath padhai karni hai mujhe (She said sadly)

(Virat sir...I will come a little late today. After college I have to study with my friends)

Virat: Theek hai...lekin tum inti udaas kyu lag rahi hai? (He asked curiously)

(Ok...but why do you seem so sad?)

Sai bit her tongue and internally scolded herself.

Sai: Vo...padhai ke liye kaun khush hoti hai? (She said trying to cover up)

(Who is happy to study?)

Virat: Tum. Tum khush hoti ho (He said confused)

(You. You are happy to study)

Sai felt like she got caught. She wasn't sure how to respond

Sai: Vo main bahut thak chuki hun na, iss liye

(I'm very tired that's why)

Virat: Accha? Kyu? Raat mein neend nahi aayi? (He asked teasingly in a lowered tone)

(Really? Why? You couldn't sleep at night?)

It sent shivers through her and she started to blush a little

Sai: Mujhe bahut acchi neend aayi (She said confidently)

(I slept very well)
Virat: Accha? (He asked amused)
