Chapter 2 - New beginnings

2 days later

Sai packed all of her things into two suitcases. The transfer had been approved and it was time for her to leave. She spent the day with Aai, Shivani Bua, Baba, Mohit and Devi Tai, just enjoying the time she had left with them. Everyone found it a little strange as Sai had kept to herself so much in the past month, but they thought maybe she was being her old self again, and they felt happy.

The next morning before anyone woke up, Sai took her bags and left. She left a note in her room for Aai.

The note:

Aai I'm sorry. Mujhe pata hai ki tumhe iss baat par bahut dukh hoga...lekin main ye ghar chod kar jaa rahi hun, hamesha ke liye. Vaise sab jaante hai ki main iss ghar mein sirf thodi der ke liye aayi thi aur jab aaya tha tab maine kabhi nahi socha tha ki main aap sab se itna pyaar milenge...ek parivaar milenge. Is liye mujhe yaha se jaana bahut mushkil hai. Aai, jitna pyaar tumne mujhe diya hai, Aaba ke alawa kisi aur ne nahi diya, aur iss pyaar ke liye main zindagi bhar khud ko khush kismat samjhogi. Please mujhe dhunde ki koshish mat karna...kyu ki main ye sheher chod kar jaa rahi hun. Main apni zindagi ko ek nayi shuruwat karna chahte hai, aur iske liye mujhe sab se door jaana padega. Agar tum Virat sir se baat kare to unhe bata dijiye ki main jaa rahi hun aur aaj se vo mere saari zimmedari se free hai. I love you Aai and I'm sorry ki main aise hi chale gayi. Please Baba aur sab ko batana ki main un sab ko bahut miss karungi aur bahut pyaar karti hun main aap sab se.

Ashwini read the letter as tears streamed down her face. She couldn't believe Sai just left.

She called Virat but he didn't answer. Soon the whole family got to know about Sai leaving. They called Pulkit to find out about if she left college and he told them she took a transfer. They were upset that he didn't tell them before but he said it was Sai's wish to keep it a secret.

One month later – New city

Virat

Ever since Aai told him about Sai leaving, he didn't know how to react, how to feel. He had built up these walls to stop himself from thinking about her, and so he tried not to feel hurt. He knew that he said all was over between them and he freed her from the relationship but hearing that she left made it all true. She was gone from his life forever. He tried his best not to care but the walls he built, threatened to break. So he just indulged himself more in work to the point that he was working more than he was not.

Virat's office
