Shuichi stirs in his sleep. His face glowed under the cool light of the early morning sun. Humans look so peaceful as they sleep. All emotions were wiped clean and all you can see how beautiful they truly ate with a slight snore, of course. Or maybe it wasn't humans. Maybe it was just watching Shuichi. Kiibo couldn't really tell. This was the first human he watched sleep to be honest. Well, other than Nanami-san. She fell asleep on the Inc. coach all the time.
After a few more minutes, Kiibo finally spoke, "Hey, Shuichi. We should probably get going." They nudge Shuichi's slumped shoulder.
Shuichi's eyes slowly open. The way the sunlight hit his them was simply incredible. Kiibo was awestruck.Shuichi gave a small smile when he looked back at Kiibo. He must've noticed them staring. "Yeah, they look really cool in the light." He confirmed, motioning his friend to look at them from a different angle.
Kiibo blushed and chuckled. "Haha. They are very nice."
"Thank you, Kiibo." Shuichi lifted his head up. He sat up to face the robot.
"Good morning." Shuichi said as he lifted his arms up high in the hair. Presumably to stretch.
"Ah. Good morning. What time is it?"
"It is 7am. Naegiri's opens in an hour. Enough time for us to get going."
"Thank you Kiibo, but today I thought I might pay the bakery another visit. I wanted to help around for a little while."
"Oh. I see. Well then, I guess I should be going. Mr. Naegi always forgets the code to the security alarm."
"Aw. Well," Shuichi's face showed a slight hint of disappointment before giving a saccharine smile. "It was a really fun sleepover."
Maybe Shuichi wanted Kiibo to go to the bakery with him.
"Of course! I had a lot of fun." Kiibo unplugged himself from the wall. Great! All charged for another week.
Kiibo slid off of Shuichi's bed. He checked for anything wrong in his system. Nothing seemed wrong. The charge went successfully and nothing felt off. They look to Shuichi and gave a small wave.
Before stepping off, Kiibo noticed Shuichi's gaze. "Something wrong?
"Did you sleep in your regular clothes?"
Kiibo looked down. His clothes were loose from having them so long.
"Um. Yes. Is that bad?" He looks down at their outfit and gave an earnest smile. They awaited an answer.
"No. It's just that...uh...it wasn't uncomfortable?"
"I really appreciate how human you think I am. I really wish to be as human as you think. But I cannot understand relaxing because I cannot relax. I wasn't built for relaxing. "
Shuichi gave a grimace. He looked back at the android for a solid minute before Kiibo's face flared. "I'm sorry was that too harsh?"
Shuichi frowned more. He rubbed his finger along his hand. "Kiibo, what are you built for?"
"To solve cold mysteries."
"So that means you can't experience the world as we do?" Shuichi tighted his hand around his bedsheets. He looked away before continuing. "The fact you were built with a purpose... it really does make you less human. I don't know why I'm here. Purposeless. Not that I know better about being human anymore. At least not more than any other human does."
"I didn't say that!" Kiibo frantically shook his head.
Shuichi looked to the side. He curled his knees into his chest as he hugged them tight. "Yeah. Maybe I'm just thinking too deep. See you later today, I suppose."
