Kiibo nevoursly stood in front of his officer's door. When, Chief Investigator Kirigiri said that they needed to knock back that cold case. He knew he'd need the help of this Ultimate Detective. He knocked on the door again. "Saihara-san. You've been in there for six months. Please allow me to at least see you."
There was stirring from the otherside of the door. Kiibo could hear the bed springs crumple and then the sliding trudge of someone's feet. "What is it K1-B0?"
"Please, call me Kiibo."
"Ok. Look Kiibo. I can't do any work with you standing outside my door."
"Mr. Saihara. I am sorry to discredit you. But I checked in with our higher ups. You haven't reported in in weeks."
"Right. Well, that's because I'm quitting, leave me alone."
"Q-quiting?! You're my trainee!"
"Yeah. Whatever."
This isn't good. They needed to think of something to at least get Saihara to open the door. Kiibo didn't know much about him. He knew that alot of Saihara's close ones went missing 6 month ago. He also knew that Saihara is stil grieving.

"Saihara-san. I refuse to lie to you. Mrs. Kirigiri sent me here to check on you."

Silence.
"Her and Mr. Naegi have been super worried. She never told you this but I know she thinks of you as her son." saccharine dripped from the words Kiibo spoke.
He placed his head on the door and chuckled halfheartedly.

Silence.

"Saihara-kun. We are working on that case. She thinks that you should be apart of this more than anyone. You should be the one get justice for them."

There was an uncomfortably long silence. Before Click.

Kiibo felt the door leave his forehead as it made a small creak. It opens slowly to reveal a disheveled Saihara. His dark blue hair was frizzed. It dropped sloppily to cover his dead beige eyes. He looked tired. "Did you at least bring the files?"
"I did."

Saihara's home was depressing. The apartment was realitivity clean but underneath there was alot of cracks in the facade. Alot of half full bottles were in the trash. There was dust on the window sill and the plants looked they hadn't been watered in a while. There were dishes in the sink and crumbled paper that littered the counters.

As Kiibo assessed the situation, Saihara turned to him.

"Do robots drink coffee?" "Um

"Do robots drink coffee?"
"Um. No. I really want to though." A silence crossed the air before Kiibo added. "Would you describe it to me if it isn't too much trouble?"

"Well. It's pretty bitter." Saihara chuckles. "But I like to add sugar and cream. Sugar makes it taste sweet. And Cream makes it less bitter, I-I suppose."

"Those words hold no relevance to me. Eh, I apologize, Saihara-kun."

Saihara thinks silently then smiled sheepishly. "Hmm. I see. That was silly of me. I guess I can't describe it. I'm sorry."

"It's ok. Don't feel bad. I can do other stuff so I like to think it evens out. Thanks for offering though!"

"O-of course, Kiibo." Saihara takes a long sip from his drink. Kiibo caught themself staring upon realizing, he quickly opened the manilla folder.
