I woke up slowly and rubbed my eyes, the scenery around me blurred into focus as I sat up gently. I felt a shuffle come from under me and I turned my head to see what it was: it was Jeff. He was there, half asleep, stretching on the sofa.
"Sorry for waking you." I whisper, being conscious of the other sleeping bodies scattered around the room.
He smiled at me "Don't be sorry.." He groaned, "I was already awake."
"Sure you were." I giggle, swivelling myself around to get off the sofa, but I was delayed by a muscular hand which slipped it's way around my waist.
"Don't leave, stay here for a bit.." A mumble from behind me spoke, "you're warm and you're like a little blanket." Jeff whispered, pulling me back onto him slowly.
"Fine." I say as I curl myself up against him.
I hear the faint drumming of a heart beat and I close my eyes, trying to drift off to sleep again, but I couldn't, I had already moved, there was no way I was getting back to sleep now.
I shuffled myself slightly and sunk to rest my head on Jeffrey's lap and stretched my legs out to reach the bottom of the sofa, my feet getting surrounded by the icy air lurking in the room.
Jeffs hand slipped into my shoulder and his body quaked under me.We didn't do much for a while and nothing really happened, there was the occasional groan from one of the passed out bodies on the floor, and me occasionally shuffling my feet slightly, but apart from that nothing happened.
My mind drifted into darkness and I somehow fell into a light sleep. After what felt like years, I awoke to the feeling of rubbing on my back. I moaned and sat up slowly, gripping my hands into what was next to me, which was the cushion of the sofa and Jeffs leg.
"Hey there sleepy head." Jeff yawned in my face as I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes, "Hey.." I groaned back at him, resting my chin on my hands and blinking at the face in front of me, my mouth also managed to produce a very faint smile.
"You were only asleep for a hour but we've all woken up and id rather wake you up nicely than you waking up to those lot yelling." Jeff murmured, moving himself side to side slightly to make his crouching position more comfortable.
I was about to ask who was yelling but then I found out,
"WATCH OUT BELOW!" A voice cried, the words slurring in the air,
"ON MY HEAD!" Another voice yelled back, with the putter patter of running around.
I'm guessing it was Toby and Jack.
Jack being the one running around and Toby being the one about the launch something; although their voices were vague and they both sounded really tired, I could make out their voices.
After another second or two of the patter of running, I heard a loud smash, and Jeff stood up and whisked his way out the door, not saying anything to me as he passed.
"What the fuck have you done!" A loud groan seeped through the walls of the house.
"WooOOahHHh lOokiE whOs maD, wahEY!" A dreary voice yelled back.
Jeff sunk himself into the archway of the living room and stayed quiet and watch Sebastian and Toby yell at each other.
"You missed!" Jack shouted, picking up a bit of broken china which lay on the floor next to him and threw it up at the figures at the top of the staircase.
There was a millisecond of silence and then..
"Ow!"
I rolled off the sofa and made my way over to the archway which Jeff was still standing in.
My eyes flew up the stairs and I saw Toby limping and jumping around on the balcony, Sebs face was as red and probably as hot as lava.
"Jack!" Sebastian yelled, climbing slowly down the stairs,
"You can't catch me!" Jack yelled at him and ran off into the kitchen.
Seb eventually got to the bottom of the stairs and when he was about to face off after Jack, Jeff held his arm out in front of him to stop him.
"That's enough." Jeff whispered, almost glaring at Seb.
Seb took a breath.
The dark fog which seemed to surround him had faded and Seb looked normal again.
"Sorry." Sebastian whispered, holding his hand on his head and walking into the living room, gently brushing past the two of us.
"Go find your brother." Jeff said to me, tilting his head towards the kitchen.
It felt so weird having him call Jack my brother.
When I turned away from Jeff I caught a glimpse of Toby hanging over the edge of the balcony with fascination, I smiled at him and he smiled back, and I carried on with going to the kitchen.
