Divergent high school

Chapter 6

Honestly, I'm not proud of this but it gave me ideas for later.

"Tris, Tris'" Zeke says. "What, what's wrong?" I reply. Panting he says, "Come to our band meeting." Zeke, Uri, Will, and Tobias have a band. They're called the Pansycakes, and they're pretty good. But he scared the living day lights out of me so he is a pansycake. "Why?" I say. I used to go to some practices, but after I while I just stopped. "We might have a new lead singer," he says. My eyes widen and my feet just stop. "Zeke, no! I would hate that much attention!" "Just come to the meeting," he says. I nod. Once we're in the band room, Tobias stands up and kisses me then I sit next to him. Uriah starts, "here's the deal, you were amazing in music... And we want you in the band." "No, absolutely not," I say. "Please," Tobias says with a puppy dog face. "Fine but I can quit freely." "Deal!" Zeke says. After the 'band meeting' I go to my dorm. It was silent for a while then, Christina asks, "do you miss your family?" "I miss my dad, a lot. Zeke and Uri are here and my mom..." I hesitate. "Abused me." a tear makes its way down my cheek. Christina comes and hugs me. I need to see my dads grave. I haven't in a while and I really miss him. The only person who has a car that I know of is my cousin Caleb who actually goes to school here. Our moms are sisters. I text Caleb to meet me out in the cafeteria with flowers. I had a boyfriend a few years ago, and he ended up being hit by a drunk driver. I will visit his grave too (for some reason they're in the sane graveyard) His name was Cole, and I was convinced that we would end up being together forever. Another tear down my cheek. I make my way toward the cafeteria and meet Caleb.

Tobias POV

After the meeting I decide I'm going to see if Tris wants to go out to dinner. I walk around a bit, and then look for her. I check the cafeteria and see her talking to some guy that has flowers. They hug and I see tears going down her face. They walk out and it looks like they're going toward a car. I'm not usually someone who follows, but I'm suspicious. I get on my motorcycle and start following. When they stop, its at a graveyard. The guy sits in the car while Tris sits crying in between two graves. While shes busy. I go up to the guy and punch him square in the nose. Why am I so angry? There might be more than what I know. Even with this is my mind I say, "tell Tris, Four says 'What the hell.' With that I walk away. "You must be the boyfriend. I'm the cousin." My mouth falls open.

Tris POV

I sit there starting with my dad, talking about how life has been since I last came here. Then I move to Cole. He died last year. A few months before Tobias and I started dating. "I love you, I never stopped. I always imagined growing old with you. But I guess this is what happens when people get too close to me. They die. I'm sorry I am with Tobias. Maybe I should break up with him. Because to be honest, I love him like I did with you. Cole, I miss you. When I turn around I see Tobias mouth wide open and Caleb, with a purple nose. Anger bubbles inside of me. "You don't trust me? You followed me? I can't believe you! Caleb, I'll get a different way back, I need to clear my head." He nods. I start to run back, but I find my way to the chasm. If I just jump, everything would be easier for everyone. No body would care. No. Thats the cowardly way out. As I start to walk away, a blind fold is put over my eyes, and I feel hands on me. I punch into the air blindly. I sigh. There are three people carrying me. "1 2 3," someone says. I am plunging down. Thats all I know other than the fact that I'm about to die. I hear shouts from people at the top. Not my attackers. "Call 9-1-1 now!" I hear. Before I become unconscious I hear voices. Dad. Cole. Why does have to be people that I care deeply about.

Zeke POV

Four said earlier that he was going to hang out with Tris. So when I see an sad looking Four, by himself, I start to worry. Tris must be mad at him. When Tris is mad she goes to the chasm. When I get there I see a few people but none are Tris. "Tris? TRIS?" No answer. I look in the chasm and see a tangled up body. "Call 9-1-1, Now!" I say. An ambulance comes and picks up Tris, I get in the back with her. "Tris, I know you can't hear me, but I need you to stay with me. I can't loose you," I'm sobbing now. She wouldn't have jumped, she must've been pushed. Once Tris goes into surgery at the hospital I call the gang.

Tobias POV

I get a call from Zeke, "Meet me at the hospital, NOW! It's Tris!" Before I know it, I'm running out the door as fast as I can. When I get there, I see Zeke. He looks like he's been crying for a while. "She was pushed," he sobs, "down the chasm." I run into the hallway with all the rooms. "Sir, you can't be back here," a doctor says. I beg him to let me see her but it's still a no. "Zeke, I'm so sorry," I say. He gives me a puzzled look. " I shouldn't have followed her." "You followed her? Why?" He asks. "I saw her with someone else, he had flowers and they hugged. She got in a car with him, she seemed sad, and they went to a graveyard. I punched the guy, it turned out it was your cousin. She saw me and got really mad." He looks disappointed, and forgiving at the same time. This is the first time I've seen him laughing or joking. "Who was she visiting in the graveyard?" I ask. "Probably our dad or Cole." "Who's Cole?" I ask. "Oh she didn't tell you... Not my business," he says. The doctor comes out. "Family over here" he says. While we were talking Uriah and their Hanna came. They walk in the room. Hanna stays for some reason.

20 minutes later

Zeke and Uri, come out and say I can go in. "Hey, Four she--," Uriah starts, but I leave before he can finish. I open her rooms door and see an awful sight. She has a broken arm, both legs, has many machines hooked up to her and theres a doctor. I can tell he has bad news. "Mr. Eaton?" He asks. I nod. "Ms. Pedrad had memory loss, she might not get it back, but there is a 1 in 200 chance that she can," he says, the leaves. "Cole?" I hear a tiny voice ask. " "Tris, its me, Tobias," I say. "Oh, who are you?" "I was your boyfriend but I'm not sure who I am anymore," I reply.

Tris POV

This guy- Tobias looks really sad, He must really love me. He kisses me, probably hoping that some part of me remembers him. His hopes just came true.
