Part 9 | what if

*sorry i haven't updating in ages but freaking heck guys over 300+ views i cant even explain how happy i am with everyone right now!!! and btw im sorry i haven't updated in a while i had a lot going on and i also had major writers block but i had an idea so im gonna see if it works!*

newt p.o.v

i ran out of the maze, i could hear it starting to close, the doors edging closer together, i didnt care about anything right now, just maddie.

it was like my life wouldnt be worth it if she wasnt hear, like it would be a blank piece of paper, nothing.

the whole world seemed to slow down when i was with her, and now she was in my arms, the world seemed to go a whole lot slower than usual, i was running as fast as i could towards the little hospital we build for clint and jeff (they are the med-jacks,) but i mind seemed to go blank, everything was gone, all that i could remember was running, maddie, minho, it was like my mind was memory card that had been destroyed and the only thing they kept on there was the most important things.

running, running, i couldnt stop, it was like i was running away from a pack of grievers, i had only ever seen one before, i didnt ever tell anyone about it though so no one knows that i escaped, no one seemed to care.

i looked down at my arms and i realised i still had maddie in my arms, i need to get her down to the hospital..... NOW

i was now in the centre of the glade, i had no other option, i screamed at the top of my lungs,

"HELP, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP HER, HELP MADDIE!"

i didnt care about anything else but her

i looked up to see gladers runner around yelling at each other, so much for teamwork.

i saw alby and clint running at full speed towards me with some blankets that had come up last month

"whats going on, what happened to her newt!?" alby said

"i..i.i dont..i dont know i was running with minho and i heard her scream and when we found her she was unconscious and fin was there and i think he hurt her" i managed to get out of my teary voice

wait i just realised i had tears streaming down my face

"lets get her to the hospital, now!" clint said 

i picked her up and off we went to the hospital

maddies p.o.v 

it was weird, i would hear voices around me, but whenever i tried to open my mouth nothing happened, it was like my mouth was glued shut, and my arms and legs, they tingled 

i could see perfectly clear, just not from my eyes, i could see everything from a different angle, like i was one of the gladers walking around

i saw newt running and screaming with a lifeless figure in his arms.

wait the figure, the figure, it was, it was me, how is that even possible?

"weird huh?" i heard someone say from behind me

i turned around and i saw a boy, he looked around 17-18 ish

"what do you mean,? how i am i here and there, and why is the other me not breathing?" i replied good enough answer i guess

"dont worry about her, by the by, that is the real you, over there, this is just your mind, no one can see you, or talk to you" he said

"wait so how can u see and talk to me?"

"im in your mind, im thomas by the way, i was your best friend before you went up to the meadow" he said

"the meadow?"

"yea it was what u called the girl version of the glade"

"wait i wasnt meant to say that, just remember one thing" he paused

"newt is your brother, u saved him from the meadow, the grievers, and everything there" then he vanished

"what the hell is that meant to mean?!" i screamed, knowing that no one could hear me

thats when i saw everyone walk away from the middle of the glade and i saw newt and my body being carried towards the little hospital shack thing
