The Mistake | maze runner story

Part 8 | footsteps

(a/n. ok so here is a short chapter i decided to make and its really late at night so im sorry if there is any mistakes or anything but i will try my hardest to make this chapter a good on)

(also if u forgot what happened last chapter i suggest you read it before reading this otherwise u will not get what is happening because i left it on a bit of a cliffhanger! thanks for 60 reads btw)

me and minho were doing our usual job of running through the maze and mapping it, same old, same old.

then as we ran past sector 3, i heard a scream coming from the edge of sector 2, it was maddy, i  recognized her scream from somewhere.

"what was that?" minho asked, his voice shaking a bit

"its maddy, come on we have to hurry!" i said and i started sprinting to sector 2, following her screams

"MADDY!!" i screamed at the top of my lungs

all of a sudden i heard her say "NEWT, HELP ME, PLEASE!" her voice sounded like she was being attacked

"come on, run faster!' i said to minho as we entered sector 2

"MADDY! ANSWER ME WHERE ARE YOU, SAY SOMETHING PLEASE!" i screamed as i attempted to hear her voice

i stopped, looked around and listened to see if i could hear anything at all,

all i could hear was the wind and, a boy? i think it sounded like someone in pain, there voice was like they were had been stung

i started running again, realizing the doors were going to close in about 20 minutes, i kept running, it felt like i was in a race, against myself, and i was losing

i turned the corner and stopped, i found myself starring at the boy who sounded like he was in pain, and i saw the back of a figure, on the ground, blood dripping out from here head like she had been punched down to the ground

the boy was crying, i couldnt tell if he was upset, or it was anger, it was like he knew what he did but instead of helping, he just stood there and watched them slowly fade away from the world.

i ran towards the figure and turned them over, praying it wasnt who i thought it was

"maddy?" i pleaded it not to be

my prays werent answered today

i looked up to the guy, and walked over to him, i threw him against the maze wall

"you did this?" i said as my face was red with fury

"you dont understand, its all her fault, shes the mistake, she killed them" he said, wiping the tears off him face

i walked back over to maddy and picked her up and carried her away 

"minho! take the guy and put him in the pit, lock him up!" i said angrily, he want worth looking at again, i had to focus on getting maddy to the med-jacks and getting her better
