California frowned as she stared at the picture frame on her bedroom wall. It was when she first joined the union, and all her siblings had welcomed her with open hands. They spoiled her with gifts and compliments, and most importantly, their love. Hard to say they would do the same now.

The only thing that anyone would say to her now was 'shut up' or 'be quiet'. She was more of a fly on the wall than a powerful asset.

Cali knew that she could be annoying, and maybe a bit vain, but she was trying, She was trying everything she could to be really noticed! Of course they did notice her, but not the way she wanted.

Her siblings usually just made fun of her, or called her names. The most love she had ever felt was so many years ago!

Not that she had always hated her siblings, but it started to grow on her. She stopped talking to anyone, stopped holding doors for anyone, even stopped coming to meetings! Not that anyone cared.

She would trade everything for a valuable spot in the family. Not a hated spot.

A loud knock interrupted her thoughts as she opened her bedroom door. Outside was Texas.

"Hey, Ame told me to tell ya not to miss anymore meetings" Texas says with no emotion, his cowboy hat on his head as usual. Oh how California loved that hat when she was little. Texas used to let her wear it, and it meant the world to her. Well...not anymore.

Cali nods and closes the door, making sure to lock it. Why would Ame care about her missing the meetings?

"Okay Cali, get yourself together," She mumbles to herself. Cali cringes at her own voice. She hadn't heard it in so long.

She opens the door and goes downstairs, ready to eat breakfast after, she'd even forgotten how long. Once in the kitchen, she grabs an orange and sits on the table, along with the rest of the southern states who were having their uno tournament.

"Heya Cali. Here to be a snob I suppose?" Alabama comments. The rest of the southern states burst into laughter as California shakes her head, crushing her orange in rage. (RIP breakfast ;-; )

"Then what Princess?" Arkansas smirks "Lost your make-up?"

Another wave of laughter erupts and echoes through the hallway. Cali cringes, biting her lip to avoid saying one of her snarky remarks.

Did they really think she only liked that? Only make-up, dresses, clothes, shoes?

"ONE DAY, I'LL SHOW ALL OF YOU-," Her anger takes the best of her. She gets up, almost tripping on her heels, anger filling her body.

The Southern states fall silent as she storms out of the room. They hadn't heard Cali's voice in a while, and were startled by her yelling.

"Guys, don't worry, I'm sure she means nothing," Texas assures the group, who was silent during the outburst.

Little did they know........ she was capable of the worst possible things.
