Chapter 6

California let out a deep sigh of relief as her hands shook uncontrollably. She tried to calm down and take deep breaths- but the shaking of her body continued. She knew it wasn't an earthquake or a panic attack, thankfully. It was a reaction to the stunningly big victory she had accomplished! She'd finally done what she had wanted to prove to the rest of her so-called 'siblings' and show them what she could really do!

Heh, the better thing was Oregon was under her full control now. She had access to all the rich resources in the state, and anything she wanted from there. He was under her control, and there was nothing anyone could do about it!

It was a long march from Eureka to the Oregon border, but when you put your mind to it, anything is possible!

California jumped up startled from the ringing of her phone as she picked it up. Was it Texas? What could he possibly want from her?

"California!" Texas's voice fills the speaker of her phone "You need to back off of Oregon!"

A long pause fills the air as California finally answers "Haha~! Of course not! It's my territory now!"

"Cali if you don't back off-," Texas's muffled screams fill the air. California feels anger filling her body as she clutches her phone tighter.

"What are you gonna do? Ignore me~? Haha give it a break!" California harshly snaps. Another long pause fills the air.

"Okay Cali- I know we haven't been the nicest but we're trying-,"

"TRYING!? TRYING!? IGNORING ME, TEASING ME, MAKING ME FEEL SO BAD I STOPPED TALKING OR EATING! I EVEN HATED MYSELF THAT MUCH I TRIED TO KILL MYSELF!! IS THAT TRYING? "

"C-c-California you stopped eating? You tried to k-kill yourself?" Texas' angry voice suddenly turns into a guilty one.

"Yes Texas! Yes! And you would never care if I didn't tell you this!" By now, California was in tears. Mixed emotions of sadness and anger filled her as she let out a shaky breath "And that's why I changed! I don't care about your rants Texas!"

"California-, if you come back I Promise you-," Texas starts,

"Tex! I'm not that young girl in the picture that fell for your tricks that you played on me with Arizona and Coco. I'm an adult, one that has real feelings! Now excuse me~ I have some duties to attend to-. I'm a ruler now, and maybe I'll take over you next~,"

"You'll regret this CALlI!" And with that, California ends the call, another smile dancing on her lips.

She had everything she wanted.....but still wanted more.

A disgusting, heart-clenching word that made people do things they didn't want to do . It pulled apart families, friends, and everything you ever loved. It even broke your heart into a million pieces that would never go back together perfectly. All just because of that word-
