third person POV
12 years later,
Gail Stewart opens her eyes to find the sun shining into her room. She throws the pillow over her head and turns over. Someone sighs and starts to pull the blanket off of Gail.
Gail groans and turns over, keeping her eyes closed "Eather, Mickey, why do you have to wake me up so early." says the teen
"'Cause ya we're supposed to be up an hour ago?" says Mikey as he rubs temple and sighs again
There's a small silence between the two.
Gail sits straight up finally processing the words Mikey was saying "WAIT IT'S THE 21ST!!"
"Yah." the boy says in his pirate-like speech impediment
"Oh gods Mickey, I can NOT be late!" Jumping out of the bed leaving her pillow behind. The girl looks down to see her green over shirt and tan under shirt with black pants and brown boots. "Thank the Etherium that I dressed yesterday, last night me is so smart."
Gail almost jumped down and entire fight of stairs.
"Gail! your bag!" Mikey say after the girl but she's already down the stairs. the boy gives another long sigh. He picks up the bag full of clothes and other things, and starts to walk down the stairs.
"GAIL NO RUNNING!!" yells Gail's parent. as they look up from the book they were reading at the kitchen island.
"SORRY! I'M LATE!" Gail yells back, running into the pantry to grab some snacks, Gail scans the shelves.
"FOR WHAT!?" Atlas continues from the kitchen
"FIRST DAY OF WORK!" Gail yells back as her eyes land on the purp bars
she grabs a fist full and turns to put into her bag but her bag isn't there "Shit my-"
A arm reaches out with a satchel sitting gently in Mikey's hand "you forgot something"
"Thanks Mikey" Gail says with a small sigh
Atlas took a large breath to yell again but was interrupted by they're two children walking out of the pantry "oh!" Gail turns to leave but she is stopped by her parent.
"Hold on, swashbuckler! I gotta give you a look over! and you can not take 10 purp bars" Atlas says pulling 6 of the purp bars put and putting some real fruit in instead
"DUUUDE!!"
Just as Gail is grumbling she gets wrapped into a hug by her parent. It's a nice warm hug, it felt safe and secure. She really wished this happened more often. Although, she pretended that she didn't enjoy it.
"I've really got to go now..." says Gail wearily regretfully pulling away
"oh, right, sorry." Atlas says letting go awkwardly and patting Gail on the shoulder
Gail looks down at her brother who is only a little bit shorter than her now, "Don't grow too much while I'm gone squirt." She says ruffling his hair
Mikey sticks out his tongue but then also gives Gail a big hug which she gratefully accepts.
"bye... I love you guys." says Gail slowly as she backs out the door.
Atlas sighs "Go get 'em my little jellyfish"
As soon as Gail was out of sight of the door, she bolted, running as fast as she could through her small town, that was located down towards the bottom of Planet Montressor. She ran through the streets jumping over shipments and boxes, saying hello to the shop keepers and passers by.
