Powers of Stampy's lovely world

CHAPTER 23

Ash's POV
Ash walked slowly into his training room. It was completely blank, since he hadn't found his power yet, but he had to keep trying. 'What do I like?' he thought. An image of Gigi, laughing, appeared in his mind, but he shook it away.

'Ok, what am I good at? What defines me?' Suddenly, a thought came into his mind. Well, not a thought. A word. one word.

He rushed into Stampy's room, where Stampy was dejectedly throwing some knives around.
"Hey. Still haven't found your power?" He asked.
"Nope" Stampy replied.
"Ah, you'll get it. Oh, and I think I may have found something to do with my power."
"Yeah? What?"
"Well, a word really. Sponge."

There was silence for a while, then Stampy finally spoke.
"Sponge?'
"Um. Yeah" Ash replied embarrassedly "seeing as I look like a sponge and all."
Stampy thought for a couple of seconds, then had an idea.
"Hey! What if, like sponge, you were able to absorb. But not liquid, powers or something!"
"Yeah, I like that idea." Ash grinned. Then he has a thought.

"What if I actually absorb her power? Stop her from using it?"
"Hmm, yeah, that could be a problem. You'd slow down the whole army!"

Ash hasn't actually been thinking about the army, he'd been thinking about Gigi, but he replied to Stampy.
"What if I could just stop them using their power against me? What if," he continued, getting excited "I could stop the whole army being affected by enemy powers? Say, Hit the target's?"
"Well, let's go try it out. D'ya know where Gigi is?"
"Nope"
"Well, let's go find her, before the others are ready for the pool party."

About ten minutes later, thy found Gigi in the armoury, crafting some diamond boots. She was covered in grime from the mining, but when Ash saw her, his heart skipped a beat.

"Heya" she smiled at him. Before he could reply, Stampy interrupted.
"Can we test something quickly? Only we think we'e found Ash's power."
"Sure. What do you want me to do?"
"We think I can absorb powers. Since I look like a sponge, it'd make sense..." Ash answered.
"A very handsome sponge" she replied playfully.
"Right, if you two are done flirting, I've organised a pool party, which I can't get to unless you guys try this out!" Stampy sighed.

"Sorry, boss man. What shall I do?" Gigi asked.
"Try and use your powers on Ash, see if you can control him."

She focused on him, and he became aware of a slight tingling sensation in the back of his head. He guessed he had to fight it; he pushed it away, out of his mind. It came back, buzzing in his ear, but he pushed it out again. he didn't know how log he stood there, fighting for control, but when he came round, he was swearing heavily.

Gigi gave him a hand up, and he groggily stood up.
"What happened?" he asked.
"We fought each other for control for about half an hour, when you started to weaken. You were sweating, shaking... I didn't want to hurt you, so I was about to stop..." Gigi trailed off, and Ash could see the trail of dried tears down her cheeks.
"But as she was stopping, she gained control. She was able to hypnotise you. It didn't work." Stampy interrupted.

"Well, no. I don't think I was doing it right." Ash admitted. They both looked at him strangely, so he continued.
"I was... fighting your power. Trying to push it away. But you guys think II'm supposed to be able to absorb, right? So... I should try and soak it in."

Gigi nodded, but replied 'I don't want to hurt you, Ash."
"You won't, I'll be fine." he replied confidently.
"Round two!" yelled Stampy.

This time, when the tingling started, Ash let it in. He let it into his mind... and then, BAM, he slammed his mind shut. The power had no escape. He forced the power to soak into his body, to be absorbed, and then suddenly, it had faded entirely out. He'd done it.

"I... I can't control him at all!" Gigi stuttered "why? That's not fair!"
He winked at her, then turned to Stampy, who was grinning.
"So, we've found my power then. What next?"
Stampy thought for a moment, then shouted "POOL PARTY!!" at the tip of his voice.

Hey guys! This was gonna be something entirely different, but I figured it was time Ash got a power. Anyhoo, two updates in one week! You lucky peeps! Nah, jk, it's only 'cos I snuck my iPod into bed and I'm bored XD.
