CHAPTER 24

Ok guys, as some of you may have noticed, the day I released the last chapter was... APRIL FOOLS DAY! I feel really mean now. *hides behind a box as angry saucepan wielding mob hunt me down* Have another really long chapter to make up for it! *angry mob don't look convinced* Ok, ok, I'll put some Sqamy in it! *some of angry mob still look angry* What else can I do? Oh, wait, I've got an idea... *whispers in ears of angry mob who look appeased* well, great, onto the story!

Squid's POV

Squid got changed into some swimming trunks, and sat down in one of the spare rooms. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he nearly didn't notice when Ash came and sat down on the bench next to him.

"Hey."
"Oh, hi Ash. What's up?"
Ash laughed sadly, and replied "Not much. I'm never gonna have the guts to ask out the girl I love, is all."
"Gigi?"
"No, the other girl I've been failing to flirt with forever. Yes, of course Gigi!" Ash replied sarcastically.
"Chill. You're not the only one with girl problems."
"Squid, everyone knows if you ask Amy out she'll say yes."

Squid looked starteledly at Ash, who laughed.
"Everyone knows, bro."
"Even Amy?" Squid asked worriedly. He didn't want Amy to think he was that sad.
"Um, I don't think so. Ok, so nearly everyone."
Squid sighed.

"So, are you gonna ask her out?" Ash asked.
"Well, yeah, I would, but how?"
"I dunno. Take her to the theatre then ask her, maybe?"
"Nah, too cheesy."
"Well, a date of some kind. Maybe Stampy's Funland?"
"You should ask Gigi out if you take her there, she's been telling everyone she wants to go."
"Yeah, but she'd say no!"

Squid thought for a couple of sconds, then retalliated "No, she wouldn't, and then on one of the rides you could hold her hand under the pretence of her being afraid!"
"I don't know. I really don't." replied Ash, his head in his hands. And then, suddenly, Squid saw a glimmer appear in his eye.

"What?" Squid asked.
"Mm?" Ash replied distractedly.
"You've had an idea, tell me."
"Well, Stampy's holding a pool party, right?"
"Um, yeah."
"Well, it'd be fairly easy to ask a girl out, right?"
"No! There'd be loads of people there who'd see!"
"Squid, the first thing a girl is gonna do if she gets asked out is tell her friends, right?£
"Wrong! Amy wouldn't do that!"
"I'm not just talking about Amy.,"

There was a silence, then the meaning of Ash's words dawned on him. He grunted unhappily.

"Please don't be suggesting what I think you're suggesting."
"Too right that's what I'm suggesting." Ash replied gleefully. "We go to the pool party, and whe one of us gets the feeling, we ask our girl out. After that, the other one has to ask their girl out, before the end of the pool party."
Lee considered it, and replied "Let's hope neither of us leave the pool party still single."

Squid walked out of the changing rooms, which he hadn't actually needed to go in, but whatever, and spotted Amy in the pool. She was wearing a dark pink bikini that matched her tail perfectly. Taking a deep breath, he canonballed into the pool.

When he surfaced, the others were soaking, but Amy was pefectly dry. When he raised an eyebrow questioningly at her, she mouthed "too bad I protected myself" at him and stuck her toungue out. Squid laughed, causing the guys around him to look at him weirdly. They followed his line of vision to see Amy blushing as she shushed the giggling girls around her.

"I think there's too much girl boy seperation at this pool party for my liking." Ash announced, looking meaningfully at Squid, who agreed thoughtfully.

"Stampy, much as I like the sounds of nature and all that, do you hae anything I could hook a speaker and a mike up to?"
"Yeah, sure." Stampy climbed out of the pool and put a trail of redstone out. Squid started playing the music- a fast, synthetic song with barely any words. Everyone looked confusedly up at him, so he attatched the microphone and shouted into it.

"WATER FIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!"

There was immediatly chaos as everyone scrambled for the random buckets at th edge of the pool. Laughing, Squid knocked Tomo Hawk, who as nearly at the buckets, back into the pool with a thin stream of water. There was an almighty splash, then Squid was covering his eyes as Tomo started kicking water at him.

Squid put his arms out, to lift more water up, when a large proportion of it hit him in the face. For a moment, his eyes were full of water, then he could see Amy laughing at him from the other side of the pool. Whilst she was unbalanced, he knocked her into the pol, then used the water like a surfboard to push him to the other side of the pool. He was about to drop a load of water on Rosie's head when out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ank swimming towardshim with a bucket full of water.

'Bring it on!' he thought.

Nearly an hour later, someone called for a ceasefire. Panting, Squid jumped out of the pool and lay down on one of the loungers. He was so tired he'd have to let the sun dry him. He was looking around for Amy when Ash caught his eye. Where was Gigi; Ash would have to ask her out soon, 'cos Squid was feeling pretty chiken right now.

He spotted Gigi crouching at the side of the pool, filling up a bucket. Squid grinned, Ash was filling up his bucket from a cauldron at the bar, only a few paces away. Gigi turned around to face Ash, who had his back to her. Watching, Squid silently willed Gigi to get the bucket... she did...lift the bucket... she did... pour it over his head.... she did!

Ash jumped, but managed to keep most of the water in his bucket, which he promptly dumped on Gigi's head. She gasped, and then suddenly Ash picked her up and kissed her. Squid looked away, and when he looked back they'd pulled back slightly, and were grinning at each other. He couldn't hear what they were saying so he scooted closer.

"You've no idea how long I wanted to do that." Ash murmered.
"You've no idea how long I've wanted you to do that." she replied.
"So..." Ash started biting his lip, and Squid inwardly shouted at him.
"So what?" Gigi teased.
"So, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes!"

They kissed each other again, and everyone started whooping and cheering. Squid could see the blush on Gigi's cheeks, but that only meant he had a deal to complete. He walked slowly away to where Amy was sitting.

She was looking wistfully at Gigi and Ash kissing, so he asked "what's wrong?"
"Oh, I don't know." She gave a small laugh. "I just hope someday someone'll love me that much."

Squid prepeared himself, then replied "Oh, someone will. In fact, soeone does."
"You don't know that." she replied sadly.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe someone doesn't love you that much." she looked down, and Squid was certain he saw a tear escape from her eye. "Maybe someone loves you more. Maybe I love you more."

She looked up at him, with... hope in her eyes? Or was it disgust? Pity? No, Squid couldn't over-anylalise it. He closed his eyes, and asked "Will you go out with me?"
