Carriage
"Are you nervous?", Lavi noticed Eleanor playing with her fingers. "Its my first time to have a mission and I haven't even tried wielding whatever weapon I am suppose to have", Eleanor looked at her hands. Lenalee clasped them together and leaned her forehead on Eleanor. "You're not alone Eleanor. We are here with you", Lenalee assured. Eleanor raised her head and looked at Allen and Lavi smiling.
"Bookman is not here with us?", Eleanor noticed. "He has some other mission. By the way, you seem to know Lavi. Have you guys met before?", Allen asked. Lenalee felt Eleanor's shaking hand. "Here we are", Lavi peeked outside the window and saw the town they were dispatched to.
They went down the carriage and entered the town. The place was filled with flower petals scattered around the ground. "It smells good", Lenalee said with glee. Eleanor was the last to leave the carriage. She wore her coat over the order's uniform. Unlike Lenalee's uniform design, she requested for a longer victorian skirt for her uniform. "Aren't you going to have a hard time with that?", Lavi pointed at her dress like uniform. "I'm used to wearing this", Eleanor cleared her throat after a long stare from Lavi. Allen went in between the two. "Time to go", Allen guessed that Lavi is just flirting around.
Allen's eyes reacted and the demons showed their weapon body. The festival was interupted and everyone is scattering like ants. A child tripped and fell flat on the ground. A demon was about to fire at him but Lenalee stomped on it with her Dark Boots. Allen and Lavi also did their task. Eleanor helped the child stand. "Are you guys hero?", his eyes sparkled. "Then big sis, what's your weapon?", he asked excitingly. The lady's eyes softened and shook her head.
Restaurant
"That was a close call. If your eyes didn't react, the people could have turned into ashes", Lavi sighed and sipped on his coffee.
Then, what is your weapon?
The child's words didn't leave Eleanor for a while. "How are you feeling?", Lenalee asked the lady. "I feel ashamed that I wasn't able to give any assistance", Eleanor forced a short laugh. "You don't have to hide it. You're also like Allen, right? You can see souls trapped in the demon's body", Lavi revealed. Eleanor wanted him to stop talking. "Your eyes...", Allen stopped when Eleanor looked away. There are also matters people doesn't want to talk about.
"That's a very convinient ability. We live our lives just second guessing who is who", Lavi playfully commented. "And if we have someone like you and Allen, things will be lot easier", Lavi encouraged. Lenalee sighed hoping that Lavi wouldn't say something offensive. "Just think of what you can do this time", Lavi winked. As the successor of bookman, he really knows what to say.
"Lavi and I will be investigating outside the town. You can both ask the townspeople about peculiar phenomenon in this area", Allen took his last swallow and stood up. The two left to continue the mission.
Eleanor wiped her mouth and Lenalee just observed her. Her grinning made Eleanor feel embarassed. "You're really lady-like. Your posture and everything looks graceful", Lenalee commented. Eleanor swore not to have her identity slip off. "Do you miss your place?", Lenalee said straightforwardly. Eleanor was startled. "What about it?", she covered her face. "It must be tough on you, right? I bet you never expected to be doing these kind of missions", Lenalee tried to remove Eleanor's hand from covering her face.
"Uhm", Eleanor shook her head. "For just a while, I am finally away from all my shame", Eleanor pressed her lips. "That's why. As long as I can run away from them, just for a while... I don't think its a bad idea", Eleanor slowly removed her hands. "I hope its only for a while Eleanor. If you are an accomodator, you will pledge your life to the Order", Lenalee said with a sad tone. "I cannot ask for more", Eleanor stood and offered her hand. "Shall we continue this mission?", Eleanor invited. Lenalee nodded. She found herself a younger sister and swore that she will protect her at all cost.
