Training Ground
Kanda and Marie are having their hand combat training. Marie heard a new sound and figured out that the person is new. He stopped moving for a while and looked at the direction of the faint sound. "We have some company", he informed Kanda who was ready to throw a punch. He looked at the direction where Marie is facing and clicked his tongue.
"What do you need?", Kanda asked irritatingly. "Can I join you?", Eleanor asked shyly. It suddenly rang a bell on Kanda's mind. He shove the thought away.
"Yes, Miss Eleanor. Are you also interested with hand combats? Although we don't usually use it in battle, we are encouraged to do so for our body to be strengthened", Marie sounded excited. "Go train with Lenalee or that beansprout. She's not worth your time, Marie", Kanda is still giving off an irritated aura. "Don't be like that Kanda. She's new here and every newcomer feels a certain amount of anxiety", Marie smiled at Eleanor. "Come and join us, Miss Eleanor", Marie invited.
"Eleanor is fine", the lady walked closer to him. "Then you can also call me Marie. By the way, what form did your innocence take?", Marie asked. Kanda leaned on the wall and closed his eyes. "I don't actually remember what happened. We went down an elevator to see Hevelaska. She checked on me and said that I am already synchronizing with the innocence. Given enough time, the innocence will soon take its form", Eleanor narrated. "I'm excited to see it as well", Marie said with glee. "How about we start with the basics?", Marie suggested.
The two took their time to learn the basics of martial arts. "When have you started seeing souls?", Marie opened the topic. "When I was 12 and that was four years from now. I recognize those souls. I thought they were just ghost haunting the town. I told the doctor about it and he suggested that it might just be my hallucinations", Eleanor answered. "It must be tough for you to be seeing such thing", Marie sympathize with her. "Uhm", Eleanor shook her head. "For some reason, I am able to apologize to them", Eleanor said in a soft voice.
"To the dead? Don't make me laugh", Kanda had a short laugh. "You were listening", Marie teased. Kanda cleared his throat and exited the training ground.
"My apologies. Kanda doesn't have filter with the words that comes from his mouth", Marie apologized in behalf of the lad. "But then, being with Kanda makes you feel safe, right?", Eleanor smiled. Marie recalled something and nodded in agreement.
Komui's Office
"She didn't come here with her own volition. I was looking forward to work with her but for some reason, I feel bad for her", Lenalee looked at her shoes.
You shouldn't go anywhere. You are chosen to carry the burden of saving the world. You are chosen to be a participant of this war!
"Our family is growing, Lenalee", Komui gave a smile making Lenalee feel better. "And just like a family, we will protect her", Komui winked. "She will be under Marshall Squalo's team", Reever read her profile. "Squalo? What are you thinking, brother?", Lenalee was startled.
"Well, it wasn't a command coming from me. The central agency said so", Komui whined.
Science Department
"Her innocence isn't materializing", Tap read the report. "Could it be a parasitic form? Ever since it entered her body, there are no signs of of wanting to detach from the host", Russel hummed. "According to Kanda, the innocence tried to feed on him. Miss Eleanor tried to pull it out and the innocence entered her arms", Johny recalled. "That's one nasty innocence", Russel commented.
Tap looked at the door and saw the lady standing. " Ahk! We are talking about your innocence", he panicked. "I understand. Its also taking your time trying to analyze it", Eleanor entered and sat with the group. Johny gulped hoping she didn't hear them talking. "About my innocence materializin", Eleanor looked at the paper spread out on the table. "Don't lose hope. We're all trying our best as well. Take your time", Johny nervously laughed.
Cafeteria
Allen and Lenalee sat together. " So she will be under Marshall Squalo's team. She's like you Allen, somehow, it felt like you have the same aura", Lenalee felt intrigued. "Well. She's got the same white locks as mine. Her eyes..", Allen paused remembering how her eyes looked like. He was mesmerized at the same time, confused with his desire to avoid them as much as possible. "Her eyes?", Lenalee repeated.
"We're back!", Lavi shouted. "Welcome back Lavi and Bookman", Lenalee stood and greeted the two. "We just came from a mission. Did you know...", Lavi started with his non-stop narration of what he saw in his mission. Bookman noticed Allen in deep thoughts and punched Lavi's head. "You still have to give reports to the Chief", Bookman reminded.
They crossed path with Eleanor who is with the science department. Lavi past by Eleanor and bent to whisper something. "You're fitting very well", he winked. Eleanor bit her lip and ignored him. "Areh~ I think we're going to be friends now", Lavi pouted. Bookman grabbed on his ear and dragged him to Komui's office.
Lenalee flushed seeing how pretty Eleanor is with her hair tied in a pony tail. Her white locks flows perfectly on her back and her skin looks smooth. Lenalee stared at her eyes and was mesmerized. She was disturbed when the grouo suddenly panicked. "Blood. Your eyes are bleeding", Johny informed. "I'm fine. I get this a lot", Eleanor chuckled. Lenalee offered a handkerchief. "Are you sure you're alright?", Lenalee asked worriedly. Eleanor nodded. The bleeding stopped and they all sighed. "Why? Why do you care so much?", Eleanor looked at Lenalee who was surprise with the question. She paused for a while and plastered a beautiful smile. "Everyone in this headquarter is my family", she patted Eleanor's head.
"Is there anything you want to eat? Jerry is a great cook and you can request any food", Johny prepared a piece of paper. "This isnt a restaurant, though", Eleanor chuckled.
Komui's Office
"She's fitting perfectly here", Lavi said under his breath and had a short laugh. Bookman elbowed his stomach making him whine in pain. "Welcome back, Bookman, Lavi. I'm glad you are back from your mission", Komui greeted and stood from his seat. "I can handle this. Lavi, go back to the cafeteria", Bookman changed his mind. "Eh?! You told me to come with you", Lavi complained. "Just go", Bookman kicked him at his side.
"Chief, Missy doesn't look healthy. Is there anything wrong with her innocence?", Lavi asked. "What makes you say she doesnt look healthy?", Komui was curious. "I am good at memorizing things. I believe that innocence has some kind of malfunction", Lavi suggested. Komui had the same thought in mind but refused to believe that a blessed weapon bestowed to them would actually rebel against its creator. "Leave us", Bookman repeated. Lavi shrugged and left the room.
"When I was tending her wounds, I watched how the innocence destroyed most of her veins", Bookman reported. "That explained the disfiguration of her arm", Komui felt alarmed. "If this pushes through, I can't help but think that the innocence will drain her till the last drop of her blood", Bookman echoed Komui's wavering thoughts. "But she already synchronized with the innocence", Komui protested. "Either ways, her life will still be in danger", Bookman said with a straight face.
