AZALEA WASN'T REALLY AFRAID of heights, she had once lived in a castle before, her chambers where almost to the top of it.

But flying at top speed? Maybe she was a little scared, not because of the fear of falling to her death or whatever, but of throwing up in the presence of everyone again.

And when she thought she had seen everything this stupid life had to offer, she gets gobsmacked by metal angels statues who were actually alive and all they needed to activate them to save their asses was a prayer from Thalia to Zeus (Azalea had earlier demanded to be told how they were alive until Percy did, even going as far as telling her he saw Athena just to get her to shut up)

The angels dropped them off at West Coast, where they decided to find Nereus who was supposed to tell them what the mysterious monster. But in order to find the old man, they had to follow his smell. Which somehow, lead to Percy dressing up as a homeless person.

"Oh, yeah." Grover said trying hard not to laugh, "You look completely inconspicuous now."

Azalea however, could not contain her laughter, she hunched over, had her palms down at her knees and laughed until her ribs hurt.

Zoe nodded in satisfaction. "A typical male vagrant."

"Thanks a lot," Percy grumbled, very much embarrassed especially since   Azalea was practically howling at his outfit. "Why am I doing this again?"

"I told thee, to blend in." Zoe said.

Azalea went over to Percy and took off his rainbow hat which a snicker. "Well you guys definitely chose the right hat for that. It's bound to catch anyone's attention." She began ruffling his raven hair to make it even more messy ignoring his frown of perplexity. Taking a step backwards she said in a low tone but not low enough to be a whisper. That mocking smirk plastered to her lips.

"Much better now. Looking good, Perseus."

Percy felt like he was dying a thousand deaths. "Thanks."

"He'll be down there somewhere," Zoe said, giving Azalea a strange look that she ignored. They still hadn't exchanged a word since their previous argument. "He never travels very far from the water. He likes to sun himself during the day."

"How do I know which one is him?" Percy asked.

"Sneak up," she said. "Act homeless. You will know him. He will smell..." She trailed off, searching for a word she would use to describe how terrible Nereus would smell.

"Peculiar." Azalea finished for Zoey without looking at her.

"...Yes." Zoey cleared her throat, everyone could practically sense the tension between them. "That is it."

"Great." Percy said with a sigh. "And once I find him?"

"Grab him," Zoey replied. "And hold on. He will try anything to get rid of thee–"

"Even trying to kill you." Azalea cut in, casually picking out the dirt in her nails as Percy went a bit pale.

Zoey released an exasperated sigh. "Yes." She turned to Percy. "Whatever he does do not let go. Force him to tell thee about the monster."
