Deena walked into school and smiled brightly as saw Sam and her friends waiting for her by her locker. "Hey guys" she said as she walked over to them. "Hey, Deens" Sam smiled. "I have to show the girl around" Deena said. "Really?" Kate asked and Deena nodded, "not like I want to" she sighed.

"Deena Johnson, please come to the office" they all heard over the loud speaker, "I guess I better get going, I'll see you guys at lunch" Deena smiled before walking to the office.

She got to the office and saw a blonde girl sitting in a chair, "Ms. Johnson, this is Amy Cameron, the new girl..coming from the one and only, Sunnyvale" the principal smiled. Deena sighed as she heard the word Sunnyvale, "just show her around the school, and maybe try to be friends? Introduce her to your group?" He smiled.

Deena nodded as she and Amy walked out of the office, "so, Amy..what brings you to Shadyside?" She asked. Amy sighed, "my dad got a new job" she said as she followed Deena through the halls. Deena nodded, "well, if you want to..you can come hang out with me and my friends at lunch?" She gave the blonde a smile. Amy nodded, "sounds good" she smiled.

Later at lunch, Deena brought Amy to their spot. "Hey, guys! This is the new girl, Amy Cameron! She's gonna hang out with us today" Deena smiled as she and Amy sat down next to each other. "Wheres Sam?" Deena asked. "I'm here, sorry- Kevin's just being a jerk again" Sam sighed and looked at Amy. She was sitting in her spot.

Sam bit her lip as she sat across from Deena, "Sam, Amy, Amy, Sam" Deena smiled, "Amy's from Sunnyvale" she then added. Sam looked up and nodded, staying quiet as she started to slowly eat her food. She's trying not to overthink anything. I mean, they just met and Amy already makes her blood boil.

Later, the bell rang and Sam stood up. "I'll see you guys later" she said as she went to go walk out but Deena said something, "wanna hang out later?" She asked, giving her girlfriend a smile. "If I'm not busy" Sam nodded before rushing out. "I'll see you guys later" Amy smiled as she walked out as well.

"What's wrong with Sam?" Deena asked, looking at her friends. Kate shrugged, "jealousy I'd say" she said. "Jealousy? Of what?" Deena asked. "God you're stupid" she said as they walked out. "Wait? Of Amy?" Deena asked, following them out. "We just met" Deena said.
"That's never stopped you before" Simon said, referring to when she met Sam.

Deena sighed, "does she really think I'm gonna leave or cheat on her with the new girl?" She asked. They stopped walking and Kate nodded, "she's just afraid of losing you" she said before her and Simon walked off.

Deena sighed, walking to her class.

After school, Deena went to Sam's house. She brought a ladder to climb to Sam's room, since her mom doesn't like her. She climbed the ladder and took a deep breath before knocking on the window.

A few minutes later, Sam opened her window and saw Deena. "D? What're you doing here?" The blonde asked. "I wanted to hang out" Deena smiled, climbing into the room. "You're lucky because my moms at work and my dads at work as well" Sam said as they both sat on the bed.

Sam has been quiet all day, she barely spoke to Deena and started making Deena worried. "Sam?" Deena spoke. "Yeah?" Sam asked. "Are you okay?" Deena then asked, "I mean..you barely spoke a word to me today..I just want to know if it was something I did, or..whatever..I just want to know what's wrong" she sighed. "I just..needed time to convince myself.." Sam looked down. "Convince yourself? About what..?" Deena asked. "That you weren't cheating on me or..flirting with..the new girl.." Sam mumbled quietly, but Deena heard her.

Deena frowned, "Sam..do you really think that I would cheat on you?" Deena asked. "It's happened to me before.." Sam said, finally looking up at Deena. "Remember when I told you that I broke up with Ashley because I moved?" The blonde asked, making her girlfriend nod, "and that I was mad about her and Kate not telling me about them because I feel like they didn't trust me?" Deena nodded again, "well, I broke up with Ashley because she..cheated on me..and I got upset because I didn't want her to hurt Kate as well, I was just..looking out for her" the blonde explained, standing up and walked towards the window, looking out of it.

Deena stood up as well, following her and wrapped her arms around the blondes waist from behind. "Sam..I would never do that to you, I promise" she said, spinning Sam around in her arms that way they were both facing each other. "I just..you mean so much to me, Sam..I would never hurt you like she did..you're too perfect to be hurt" she softly spoke, bringing a hand up to the blondes cheek, gently stroking it wither thumb.

Sam looked down and Deena's heart ache, "will you please look at me?" She asked, making Sam look at her again. "Sam..you're perfect..I would do anything just to prove that I would never hurt you, or cheat on you..you deserve the world, Sam. Even if I'm not in it" she spoke as she pressed their foreheads together. Sam closed her eyes, letting the tears out.

She was just afraid of losing the first person who has ever actually cared for her. Deena meant a lot to her and she couldn't lose her.
