"We need to talk" Kate said. "About?" Sam asked. "You know what" Simon said. Sam stood up, "nope, I am not doing this" she said. "Sam! As your captain, I advise you to sit your ass down and just listen to us!" Kate ordered, making Sam let out a soft sigh and she sat down. "What about it?" She asked, looking down at her hands.
"Look, we get that you're hurt..and you thought that you could trust her, but..Sam, she didn't mean to hurt you, okay? You just..she was trying to protect you" Kate said. "By lying?" Sam rolled her eyes. "Sam, she didn't want to lie! She did it because she didn't want you to worry about getting hurt or them telling everyone your secret!" Kate said, getting frustrated right now.
"Right.." Sam mumbled. "Look, we've been in Deena's life since she was little. This isn't the first time that she has lied, she does this, Sam. Her whole life, even before her mom had passed, her dad was always yelling at her, telling her that she was a mistake, telling her that she's a failure. But with her mom, her mom would always take care of her. She also always knew that Deena was a lesbian, nothing about her said straight. Her mom was the only person, besides us and Josh, that has always supported. She's probably gonna get mad at us for telling you this, but..it's her fathers fault she died. He was the one behind the wheel and he was drunk when it happened. If anything, he should've been the one who died, not her mom. After her mom died, she wasn't able to sleep, to eat, to get out of bed because her mom was the only one who was always there for her. Her dad? He didn't care. His drinking problem got even worse after the 'accident'. He used to..give Deena bruises, but mainly because she would always stand up to him everytime he yelled at Josh. It happens still, just not as much. Look..Deena lies a lot..she's going to keep lying, Sam..that's just how she is. And without you, we're afraid that she won't ever get out of bed" Kate explained and Sam stayed silent as she heard Kate.
Mainly because she didn't know what to say and she felt..numb and she felt like shit. "Look, just- please..think about it, okay? Deena really needs you right now" Simon said before he walked out with Kate and Ashley.
Sam just sat there, not moving, but tears falling from her eyes. She sighed as she got up and went to her phone, dialing Deena's number before pressing the call button. She patiently waited for Deena to answer.
She soon heard a voice on the other end, "hello?" Sam stayed quiet, not sure of what to say, "listen, asshole. I don't-" Sam cut her off, "Deena.." her voice cracked. "S-Sam.."
