Chapter Twelve
-Niall-
I know Lilah is dating Lou but I still can’t stop thinking about her. She hasn’t left my mind since… I first saw her. She’s just so… perfect. I need to see her, hear her voice, look at her picture… anything!
I dial her number and hit call as my heart started to pound harder. Maybe she won’t answer. No wait she did. Yay! “Hello?” she answered sniffling. Was she crying?
“Hey, it’s Nialler. Are you okay? You sound like you’ve been crying. You can tell me,” I reply. She sniffles again. I can tell she’s trying to hold back the tears.
“No,” sniffle, “I'm not okay,” sniffle, “I need someone to talk to,” sniffle, “can you come over?” she mumbles.
“I’ll be there in two, I’ll be there in two, I’ll be there in two,” I sing to her in attempt to cheer her up. Fail. “Bye Lilah. Stay strong,” I say before hanging up.
I grab my keys and run out the door. I might have a chance at getting her heart. She’s too perfect to waste my time on someone else. I'm not giving just yet. Cheering her up is step one walk up the steps to her.
-Lilah-
After I got off the phone with Niall. I grabbed a pillow and cried into it. Him caring about me reminded me of Louis. Louis cared about me too. Louis. His name fits his personality. Perfect.
I screamed into that pillow. So hard I think China heard me. I know Ali, Abby, or Liv will try to come in and act like I'm some charity case. I’d rather stay in my room forever if they’re going to act like that.
I heard a knock at the door. I guess it’s time to get out of my shell. I unlocked my door and walked to the door. They gave me looks like I murdered someone. I looked at them like they were animals. Deep down I was hurting and I needed a strong pair of arms to hold me.
I opened the door and there he stood. White t-shirt, jeans, high tops, snapback covering his beautiful blonde and brown hair. He looked really good and I needed him to cheer me up.
I flung my arms and squeezed him tight, afraid that he would leave if I let go. He wrapped his arms around my waist bringing me up to his height. I grabbed his hand and lead him into my room.
“I'm so glad you came over. I really needed someone to cheer me up,” I say plopping onto my bed.
“Anytime love. Now why were you so upset?” I knew he’d ask this, I just didn’t know it’d be the second he walked in the door.
“Louis,” I say simply before breaking down all over again. He runs onto my bed, wrapping his arms around me. I can’t help but lean over and cry into his arms.
“Shh. Shh. It’s okay. Breathe. Breathe. Calm down,” he mumbles rubbing smooth circles on my back. We stay like that for a little while until he gets up and gets my guitar.
“Mind if I play?” I shake my head laughing slightly. “There you go, there’s that laugh,” he says in a funny tone making me laugh again but louder.
He started to play a song I didn’t really recognize. I just hummed along slightly. He really did cheer me up.
“Hey Nialler?” his head snaps up. “Yeah Lilah?” he replies. “Let’s make a promise. From this day forward, we’re best friends. No secrets, no matter how big One Direction gets. We’ll be like strings on a guitar. Deal?” I ask. “Deal,” he replies hugging me tight. Me and him against the world.
