Chapter Twenty-Five

-Louis-

Sleep was a complete challenge for me last night. It was strange that I did get sleep at all. The only girl on my mind was that girl with sparkling green eyes and brown hair like her brother’s. Delilah. She never left my mind since she left the yogurt shop, mad and upset beyond belief.

I knew I fucked up, bad too. I had to get her good with me again but I didn’t have a clue how to. I had no idea where she was to begin with. I didn’t know what to say when I got to her. I didn’t know what her reaction would be. I just didn’t know.

I made thoughtless mistakes a lot. I made thoughtless decisions. Mostly everything was thoughtless in my life. Everything was thoughtless… but her.

I didn’t know who to call, who to talk to, who to ask about her to. Then it popped into my head. Harry. He would know where she was right?

I was pondering the moment for a bit. No, she was mad at him. Could I call Niall? I’m pretty sure she’s mad at him the most.

I guess I’d have to rely on Liam or Zayn because out of all of us, she wasn’t mad at them two. Maybe she’s at a friend’s place… yeah I highly doubt that.

I dialed Zayn’s number first figuring he’d answer quicker than Liam. I hope she comes back soon…

-Lilah-

“Okay okay,” I say catching my breath from Zayn’s previous joke. He was a comic genius and in the past hour I can’t quite handle my breathing around him. “One thing I hate is attention whores.” There was a pause then he burst out laughing. His eyes made little crinkles and his white teeth were clearly exposed.

“It’s true! I hate people who will get anything to have attention on them. Like if I'm with certain ones, they’ll start huffing and puffing.” I demonstrate deep breathing like I was having a panic attack. He makes a squeak, covering his mouth and laughing harder.

“Like do you need to go the nurse or something?” now we’re both laughing, finding it hard to breathe. He fell back onto the white carpet which we were previously sitting straight up on, laughing harder and with more enthusiasm.

There was a knock at the door which made our laughter abruptly stop. I looked at him, turning to the side on the floor. He nodded, telling me it’d be better if I answered it. I had a pretty good feeling that I knew who it was going to reveal.

One question kept running through my mind constantly: How would I react if it did reveal 3 of the people I wanted to stay upset with?

I disregarded the thought and swung the door open with my eyes closed. I didn’t open them until whoever it was brought me into a bone crushing hug. Judging by the bone structure, I would’ve guessed it was Louis or Harry, both of them I would’ve fought to get the hell off me. The only difference between Harry, Louis, and this guy was his cologne. It was Chanel No.5, not Polo or Calvin Klein like Louis, Harry, and Niall like to wear.

“Lilah,” he breathed, sending warmth down my back. “I was so scared something happened to you,” he pulled me closer to him, bringing more warmth to my cold body. He pulled back and I looked into his brown eyes, still holding onto my shoulders tight.

“Why didn’t you call us or text us? We had to have a sleepover at my flat so none of them would go looking for you.” He looked up and where we were standing and looked back down at me, utterly confused with his eyebrows making a V. “Why would you stay at Zayn’s and not mine? Did you feel safer here or something?”

“I knew that they’d be there and I’d rather lash out on them all together alone then with the whole crew. It’ll be less awkward for everyone.” He nodded and hugged me again. I could hear some noises I didn’t want to hear coming off his lips.
