Chapter Twenty-Nine

-Louis-

It’s been a week since that night in the club. 10 days to be exact. 240 hours. 14400 minutes. 864000 seconds without her here. She’s been gone that long since anyone saw her. All I do now day and night is hope and pray that she’s okay.

She left before I could apologize. She fled the scene before I could say goodbye. She didn’t let me explain myself. She just ran away – at least I hope she did.

I haven’t left my flat since a week ago. It’s now the 11th of November. People come to check up on me and make sure I'm still breathing. Honestly, I can’t take another day of it. I can’t keep having people tell me that she’s okay somewhere. I can’t handle how many people tell me to move on.

I can’t move on and I don’t think I ever will. She was in my life longer than any other girl I’ve ever known and she’s gone. She won’t come back. She was such a perfect person and now she’s dead.

“Louis where are ya mate?” Harry asked as he burst through my door. Him, Liam, and Zayn all have a copy of my key to come into my flat to check up on me. Mostly because if they didn’t have a key, I wouldn’t open the door and they’d think I’m dead.

“Oh there you are!” he exclaimed once he found me staring straight at the wall. He waved his hand in front of my face to try to get me out of whatever daze he thought I was in. “I might have an idea on where Delilah might be,” he said with an exciting tone.

I instantly brightened and almost tackled him by how hard I jumped on him. “What?! Where?! Where’s my girlfriend?!”

“Well… here’s the thing…” My face dulled and he instantly noticed. “Well have you seen Niall around lately?” he asked. I shook my head with a questioning face.

“Isn’t that a little weird? I mean he’s always come to us about everything or even when he’s bored. But all of a sudden – when my sister is no longer around – we don’t hear from him in guess how many days.” I shrugged. “TEN FUCKING DAYS!”

My face fell, it all made sense now. “Wait so is she like… still breathing?”

“That I'm not sure of. But what I do know is that you can’t stay in one place forever. Especially when you don’t want to be found and you might have someone with you.” I gave him another questioning glance. “We’ll call her and see if she answers.” I just went with the flow.

It rang and rang until her sweet voice was the only sound filling the room. “Harry! I'm sorry babe I have to call you back later. Niall and I are heading to Ireland for a few days to meet his parents and his brother and his family. Oh Harry, it’s going to be so fun!”

“Erm… Louis’s here too,” Harry said awkwardly. Within a second, she laughed at something then hung up. Like she didn’t hear what he said. Like I was never in the picture. Like she was moving on so quickly.

-Lilah-

“Oh my god, Niall!” I exclaimed while I burst out laughing. Somehow he got his home made gelato on his forehead. During our time here, we had gelato every day. For breakfast we would always have croissants and coffee. Lunch was homemade pizza. Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs. That’s basically what we lived on in this little adventure.

I kissed his forehead where the gelato was then his cheek and his lips. We were both smiling like crazy just like we were this whole trip.

It was weird though. Every other night we’d have sex and it became a normal thing for us. I got used to the feeling and it made us more connected. Not in a weird way.
