Nia's pov
I walked into homeroom with Brooke. We got our schedules the only thing we had together was fashion which was next semester. I looked at what I had after which was science. We got our lockers and then we were sent to our next classes. After a couple minutes I finally found my science class. Gino and Kevin were sitting there.
"Hey." I said
"Hey. Gino move up a row I want to sit next to my girl." Kevin said
"Fine." Gino moved up a row.
"Phew I found it that took ages." Maddie said taking the seat next to Gino. Maddie and I have gotten pretty close. We've gone on a lot of dates with our guys and I think we're becoming best friends.
"So I'm stuck with you people all year." I said making a fake disgusted voice.
"Trust me I don't like this either." Maddie said playing along.
"Hello now since you are all new to high school I want you to stand up say your name and 1 thing you like to do." Mr Robin said
I listened to everyone else speak. Then it was my turn.
"Hi I'm Nia and I like to cheerlead." I said
"Hi I'm Kevin and I like to play lacrosse." Kevin said
"Hi I'm Gino and I like to play hockey." Gino said
"Hi I'm Maddie and I like to do gymnastics." Maddie said
We went on with the rest of class. We headed to English we did the same thing as science. Then we headed to gym we started the year off with track and field my least favorite. Gym went by alright we only ran two laps and a couple of other field events. I went changed then I walked to my locker and grabbed my lunch. I walked to the cafeteria and sat down with the gang.
"Hey guys how was your classes?" I asked
"Boring." Chloe replied
"Same." Kendall said
"So what's everyone doing after school?" Nick asked
"Trying out for cheerleading." I replied
"Maddie and I have national gymnastics tryouts." Brooke said
"Volleyball tryouts." Kendall said
"Probably going to finish my art peice."
"Tryouts." The guys all said
"Wow you guys have such fun lives." Paige said
"Paige aren't you gonna try out for choir?" Maddie asked
"You don't have to try out at this school. They let everyone in." Paige replied.
"That's dumb." Chloe said
"I know." Paige replied
The lunch bell rang and I headed to my locker. I grabbed all my things for math and headed to class.
"Hello class please wait so I may tell you were you may be seated." Mr Mac said. I hate seating arrangements they suck.
"Nia you may have a seat in the back right next to Maddison Z." Mr Mac said
"I prefer Maddie." Maddie said nicely so that the teacher didn't think she was trying to be rude.
"Kevin take the seat next to Maddie. Gino take the seat next to Nia." Mr Mac said
"Wait! Sorry I read that wrong boys switch." Mr Mac said
"This is a perfect seating arrangement." I said
"I agree." Kevin said.
Math was very boring. I headed to art with Chloe.
"Today I want you too design a cover for your art book." The teacher said
I started drawing I drew a cheerleader. Then wrote my name I thought it looked good then I looked at Chloe's and changed my mind. Chloe's was a drawing of her drawing something it looked just like her it was amazing.
"That's really good." I said
"Thanks." Chloe replied
We continued talking and perfecting our works.
It was the end of the day finally. I headed to the gym I changed into my tryout clothes.
"Hi guys my name is Mandy and I'm captain. This year we need 5 more cheerleaders. We will be doing some drills and tumbling and then we'll see who will make it in. Alright you guys can continue stretching for 3 minutes then we'll start." Mandy said
I stretched and talked to a girl named Jillian.
"So have you ever done cheerleading?" Jillian asked me
"Yes. You?" I said
"Yup before I moved here I was on a team. Jillian said
We continued to stretch and then auditions were starting.
"Ok since this is a large group we're going to show you some tricks that you must know so if you can't do them leave." Mandy said
A girl came out and did a cartwheel. I thought no one would leave but two girls left. Another girl came and did a split jump one girl left. One guy came and did a back flip and seven people left. Then another guy did three round offs and ended it with a back tuck ten people left. There was fifteen people left now.
"Alright we're going to teach you guys a simple combo." Mandy said
Mandy then went out and did a side arial three round offs a layout stopped then screamed "go Bulldogs!" Then did a back tuck then did a split jump. Three girls and one guy left. There was eleven of us left.
"Nia Fraizer you're up first." Mandy said
I went out and did the combo pretty well almost perfect but my back tuck was a little low.
"Jillian Williams." Jillian went and did the combo perfectly it was absolutely amazing. She did it like it was nothing. We continued the auditions watching.
"I think we made the squad." Jillian said
"I hope so." I said
"You were amazing." Jillian said
"Thanks so we're you." I said
"Alright guys the people joining the squad are Jillian Williams, Matt Wright, Emily Binds, Nia Frazier and Patrick Thomas. Congratulations! If you did not make it please grab your things. Thanks for trying and remember there's always next year. If you made it come here so you can grab a parent consent form!" Mandy said
