"Okay, she sounded fine."
"Well, yeah. It's good for a woman to know how to do something to help you."
"Hahaha. I get it."
"What?"
"Wait, that wasn't a joke you made just now?"
"...No."
"I thought you were making a sex joke... Okay."
"Way to make things awkward, Emilia. Sheesh."
"Well, wanna go out for drinks?"
"No. It's a Wednesday. I can't work with a hangover."
"Tomorrow? Please?"
"Okay, fine."
"Great... any more girls you have to talk about?"
"No... I kind of want to find a new one. That suits me. That understands me."
"Did none of those girls from before understand you?"
"Not many of them. They might have been pretty, some of them were funny, but love is... more than that."
"Hmmm."
"I need someone that I can reach for. I need to be able to chase them."
"Poor choice of words."
"Okay, all jokes aside, you get what I mean."
"I think I might know someone..."
"You do?"
"My sister, Juliet Luvious. I haven't talked to her in a really long time, but I know a lot about her."
"I'm... not sure if I want to trust you on this."
"Do you want a picture of her?"
"Yeah, show me."
Emilia pulls up a picture of a blonde girl on her phone. She's wearing a white collared shirt, but she has swimming gear underneath. She is sitting on the edge of a yacht.
"This is her?"
"Yeah, cute right?"
"Not gonna disagree with you on that one."
"I'm gonna call her right now."
"Wait what? WHAT?! NO!"
She presses on her profile and hits the 'call' button. She picks up right away.
The voice on the other line is light but professional.
"Hello?"
Emilia gestures for me to talk to her.
"Errr, hey, this is Conner."
"I don't know a Conner. What did you do with Emilia?"
"She's safe with me. I will need a modest price of $100,000 dollars and I will let her go along with your mother Candice."
"Who's Candice?"
"Candice d-"
Emilia pulls the phone away and hangs up before I can say anything else.
"BROOO! She must be so confused right now, oh my god."
"Do you think she'll still go on a date with me?"
"Of course. She gives everything a chance. I'll set you guys up at The Port tomorrow morning, alright?"
"Oh, fuck I don't like this."
"You live for danger. Go get 'em, tiger."
