Serenity was super helpful. She was an MG unit, so she'd always have experience in carrying things. Especially M60 light machine guns.

All she would do is open doors for me, cover the bill, wash the dishes for me and stuff like that. I find that pretty cool but it still was missing something.

"Alright, Conner. Where next?"

"How about that arcade?"

"Sure thing."

I walked with Serenity to the arcade, and guess what - she paid for our passes.

"Alright, which game first?"

"How about that? It looks pretty cool."

"Huh, PAC-MAN Exit Point. Never seen it."

The game has a PAC-MAN layout, but includes much smoother graphics and there are... guns.

"Alright let's try it out!"

Our characters spawn in and they start running around.

"I think we have to get all the pellets here, but there are going to be guards around patrolling the maze."

"So do we kill them?"

"If it was only that easy with just a pistol. We should be able to find some better weapons."

"Go look around and check your corners."

There is a small room containing a box I can't identify. When I go to pick it up, the box opens and reveals a shotgun!

"I've got a shotgun, you?"

"Oh, I found nothing, except for this heavy machine gun!"

"Use it, use it! We have to make a path for ourselves to get all the pellets."

One of the guards gets in my way and I blast a shell into its body. It dies and turns into points.

"Great, I got the guy's pistol!"

"I think backup is coming. I can see SWAT moving around with shields!"

"A group of enemies is circling on me! I have to move!"

I use my shotgun on the crowd, but the shields they have completely nullify the blast.

"Oh my god. It's not doing anything!"

"It's okay, I got you!"

Serenity's character comes around the corner and keeps the SWAT down with her machine gun.

"Get moving! Find a better gun if you can!"

I bump right into a SWAT that has his back turned, so I use my pistol and gun him down, he drops his assault rifle.

"I got an AR! I'm coming back to assist you."

With my rifle I take quick bursts at the police moving forward and they get shot down easily.

"Great work! There's only a few more pellets, we have to get them before more SWAT come in."

It doesn't take long for police to respond, but luckily we take all of the pellets and the wave ends.

"Woo! We did it!"

"It's not over yet. Look, 'LEVEL 2'!"

Both of us get put in the same spot again, and now there are more SWAT. I can see snipers on the maze borders, with their red lasers tracing us down.

"This is gonna be hard. Get a move on!"

I reload my assault rifle and advance, taking more pellets as I go. Another box is nearby, I open it and there's a sniper rifle inside!

"Serenity, I just got a sniper rifle!"

"Okay, use it!"

I get out of the room and turn left to see a shield swarm with their guns drawn.

"Uh oh!"

I get back behind cover while they shoot, but when they come closer to attack me, I come back out and snipe them down.

"This rifle penetrates shields! Awesome!"

Moving through the maze, I'm able to collect more pellets while the waves get even bigger. With my assault rifle - sniper combo though, they're not a problem.

"Conner, I'm getting surrounded!"

"I'll come help you!"

I run to Serenity's position, but I hear a loud sound behind me, like a kind of siren.

"What is that?"

"WOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO..."

The sound gets louder and then I realize I'm knocked down.

"Oh shoot! What was that?!"

"Something bad, some kind of cloaker SWAT. It's coming right at me, too!"

Serenity manages to shoot down the loud siren cop thing, but then a sniper gets a really good angle on her and manages to take her out.

"Dang it!"

The game comes to a close and says GAME OVER on the screen.

"Well, that failed."

"It was hard, let's be honest."

"Sure."

I take our card and we go to play some more arcade games, but we leave the arcade after trying most of them.

"Well, that was fun."

"It was. Some of those games were pretty bad, though."

"Yeah, I liked the PAC-MAN one more, though."

We went out and got AAY burgers, which are some boardwalk burgers that the owner Jarred makes with a lot of his other friends. They're probably the best in town, even though there are a bunch more in the town.

"Tastes great. Thanks Jarred."

"No problem."

Then after that, we went to the fairgrounds and went doing some pretty fun stuff. There were a few rides we liked. A few we hated.

"This night feels soooo long..."

"Are you tired, Conner?"

"Hmm, nah. I usually don't even sleep. Almost every day I'm- WOAH!"

Someone had spilled their slushie and I slipped on it by the steps, making me hit my side on the stairs.

"Ow, jeez."

"Woah, you okay? Where's it hurt? What do you need?"

"I'll be okay... If anything I'm just pretty fucking butthurt..."

"Let me carry you. What kind of dick leaves their drink on the stairs..."

"Relax, Serenity, my legs work."

"Well, can you lean on me?"

"...For you, I will."

Serenity walked me back to my apartment just fine, and it was a pretty funny talk back home.

"Thanks, I'm grateful."

"Heh, me too. Want any more help?"

"Nah. You're good."

I was one for acts of service, but this might have been too far.
