4:30 pm
     It has been about 2 weeks and Steve and Sam haven't had any luck finding any information about finding Bucky. Natasha is in her room while Yelena is making dinner. You look up and color " auntie? Is mama coming down ?" Yelena sighs " I don't know buddy. She probably will feed bubba." you nod " I made her a picture." Yelena smiles " I'm sure she will love it." there is a knock on the door and you look excited " it is daddy!"  you get up and run. Yelena calls you " y/n get back here." she grabs Reed and heads to the door. " y/n it isn't going to be your dad. Ok?" you shake your head and smile and Yelena opens the door it is Steve with takeout he smiles " hey! I brought dinner. Where is Natasha?" Yelena sighs " she is upstairs and I'm already making dinner." Steve ruffles your hair " hey buddy. I brought you chicken tenders." you smile and hug Steve Yelena pulls you back " Steve it is fine. I have pasta heating up."  Steve sighs " let me just help." Natasha walks down and gives Steve a small smile " hey what are you doing here?" Steve smiles " I brought dinner and we need to talk." Natasha sighs " of course. Come in. Let serve y/n first and then we can go to the patio to talk." they serve your food and Steve takes Reed and they head out to the patio. Yelena sighs and watches them.

Natasha sighs " have you found any information where James is?" Steve shakes his head " there is nothing so far. But Sam is looking. How are the boys?" he adjusts to Reed while Natasha sighs " it is hard on all of us but especially y/n he misses his daddy." Steve rubs Natasha's knee " don't worry. We will find him and I will help with the boys. What if tomorrow we take the boys to the park? Get y/n out of the house." Natasha nods " yeah that will be fine. We do need to go look for James through." Steve sighs " I know. And we will but the boys can't lose another parent." Natasha sniffles " I miss him. I don't know what to do without him. I told him not to go. I wish he would have listened to me." Steve nods " don't worry. We find him. Let get the boys to bed and we will think over a plan." Natasha smiles " that sounds good." they put you guys in bed and talk for the rest of the night. And Steve continues coming over to help Natasha.

1 week later:

Steve just left at midnight when Yelena looks at Natasha as she walks upstairs " what are you doing?" Natasha looks confused " what are you doing? Standing in the dark like a weirdo." Yelena crosses her arms " do you not see what he is doing? He is trying to replace James." Natasha gives Yelena a look " no he isn't. He is just trying to help us.Y/n needs male bonding." Yelena groans " he has James! You just need to stop moping around and go team with Clint and find him! When was the last time you had spent actual time with your boys? Because for the past 2 weeks I have been cooking for y/n and making sure he takes his baths and goes to sleep at a decent time. Did you know he has been having nightmares? And reed he only sees you when you feed him. Unfortunately, he sees you more than y/n." Natasha looks down " drop it. Steve is just helping us. I'm going to sleep. Good night!"  Yelena glares at Natasha.

The next evening:

You are coloring while your mom is cooking dinner. Steve is rocking Reed " Hey buddy I'm daddy. Can you say dada?" you look up confused " Uncle Steve you aren't his daddy. You uncle Steve." Steve looks over at you " buddy I hate to say it but daddy isn't going to come home." you look confused " yes he is! Mama and Auntie say he is!" you stand up and your crayon at Steve " daddy is coming home!" Yelena and Natasha run out and you run to Yelena " daddy coming home right?" you cry and Yelena picks you up and holds you " yes he is buddy." she glares at Steve and Natasha looks confused " what happen?"  Steve shrugs his shoulders " he just freak out."  you shake your head  " he said daddy isn't coming back!" you sob and bury your head. Natasha gets angry " Steve! You have no right to say something like that to him! You aren't helping us anymore. I will be in on Monday and we are going to start searching for him." she takes Reed from Steve " leave now."  Steve grabs his jacket and leaves and Natasha locks the door and walks to you " baby don't worry we found daddy. Why don't you sleep with me tonight let go?" you sleep with your mom for the rest of the night not letting her go.
