Daddy is home

Once they land back at the Avengers compound. They take James to the infirmary and Natasha sits next to them while Bruce cheeks him. Steve stays in the room " I will stay with you in case he wakes up and wants to fight." Natasha nods and plays with her ring " yeah that is fine Steve." 
About a couple of hours later he wakes up and looks around him. He sees Natasha and starts choking her. She tries to fight him and Steve yells at Bruce to hit him with a sedative. James gets the shot and James lets go of Natasha and Steve runs to Natasha " are you ok?" she nods  " I'm fine. We need to help him." they put him in a cell and Natasha heads home. She breaks down in the car and drives home.

around 5:30 pm

   You are coloring with Yelena at home " auntie you like my dinosaur?" Yelena looks over " I love your dinosaur." you smile " I'm giving it to mama." Yelena smiles " jerk what if I want it?" you giggle " I make you another one." Natasha walks in and your smile " mama I made you something!" you run to her and she looks down  " I love it bubba. We will put it on the fridge." you stare at her " mama why are you crying?" she scoops you up and kisses your head " we found daddy." you smile " can we go see him? I miss him!" Natasha shakes her head " we can't. He is sick right now and getting help. But he will be coming home. Wanna help with dinner?" you shake your head " auntie made mac and cheese." Natasha nods " well let cuddle. Mama needs cuddles from her favorite boys." you guys clean up the crayons and put on a Scooby doo. You cuddle with her and yawn " mama daddy will be home soon?" she nods " of course. He just getting help right now." you nod and yawn as Yelena look over " he didn't take his nap today. And he woke up early. So he might crash soon." Natasha nods and kisses your head and Reed's head. She rocks you both and sighs as Yelena looks over " you found James?" Natasha nods " he is brainwashed. So we just have to be patient. He didn't even remember me. He has been gone for almost 5 months. Reed was a week old. I just want him home." Yelena nods " he will."

   Over the next couple of weeks, Steve and Bruce have worked with Bucky to get fixed.  Steve walks in with some food and sits it down near James " hey bucky how are we doing?" bucky looks up " Steve? Where am I? Where is Nat?" Steve squats down " are you ok? You were brainwashed. We have been trying to help you." Bucky looks down " how bad was it? Who did I hurt?" Steve shakes his head " it doesn't matter. You have some boys that miss you." Bucky shakes his head " I can't. I don't want to hurt them."
Steve " you won't. Eat I will be right back."

Steve calls Natasha to bring you over and Natasha nods " is the better, Steve? I can't risk my son getting hurt."  Steve adjust the phone " he asked about you. I think he is ok now." Natasha sighs and fiddles with her fingers " ok I will bring him over. But nothing better happen." Steve nods " I promise you nothing will happen."

  Natasha gets you ready and drives you to the compound. You are playing with your power rangers and look up at your mom " mama where are we going?"  Natasha gives you a small smile " we are going to see daddy. He is feeling better." you smile wide " yes! I miss him. Hurry mama." Natasha chuckles " I'm going baby. There is just traffic." you sigh and continue playing.
About twenty minutes later you guys arrived and you get excited " can I bring my toys? Daddy and I can play." Natasha nods and takes you out of your car seat you head some power rangers and she holds your hand and walks in. She waves at Thor and Maria and heads to the infirmary and you smile and look up " mama I'm excited to see daddy." Natasha smiles " I know you are." she knocks on the door and walks in. James and Steve look over and steve smiles as James look down and you run to James and hug his legs. He stops back but whispers " hi buddy." you smile and look up " daddy I miss you. Let play power rangers!" James looks at Natasha and she nods and smiles. She hands you the power rangers and James plays with you. But there is some hesitant and he avoids any hugs from you. You notice it and look at your mama. She gives a small smile and plays with you and James. She sees James is doing better and is ready to take him home.

2 days later:

Natasha is driving home with James and she reaches over to hold his hand. " hey don't worry. The boys are very excited to see you. Reed has changed a lot. He has more of your features than mine." she chuckles lightly and James nods and stays quiet. She sighs and focuses on driving they get home and you run to your dad. He steps back and you look confused but hug him.
During the day you try to play with your dad and he just stays on the couch staring at the wall. You bring over some legos " daddy wanna play?" James shakes his head " where is your mom?" you look up " she with Reed. Mama said we go to the park." James sighs  " go with your mom." you look confused " but play with me." James gets up " I'm going to get air." he leaves and you sniffle and run to your mom. She has finished changing Reed and you bump into her " hey bubba. What happened?" you snuggle into your mom and she plays with your hair. " mama daddy won't play with me. He outside." Natasha looks down " what? Let me go talk to him. You wanna keep Reed company?" you nod and smile. Natasha sets you and Reed in the living room. Natasha walks outside " hey what is  going on? Y/n wanted to play with you. He is upset."  James looks over " I don't want to hurt him. I don't know what I can do."  Natasha grabs James hand " hey. You won't hurt him. I know you be fine."  James nods " I will only play with him if you are there." Natasha nods " of course. Let go."
Over the week your dad only spent with you if your mom was present. You wouldn't use to it and it made you upset. Especially at nighttime when you miss him reading  to you. He would only tell you goodnight and that is it. Unfortunately a couple nights later it turn to the worse.

6:30 am

James was tossing and turning having a horrible a nightmare. Natasha wakes up and looks at James she reaches over and shakes James " babe ? Babe? Wake up. You are just having a nightmare. Please wake up." James jumps up and looks around in fear. He grabs Natasha throat and start choking her. She gasps for air and taps James hand she try's to escape before she yells James and smacks his hand. He closes his eyes and opens his eyes  and drops her " I'm sorry. I... I." He quickly runs to the bathroom while she rubs her throat  and coughs " James please come back. It is ok! We can work through this." She knocks on the door and he ignores her.

James paces back and fourth his worst nightmare just came true. He put the one he loved the most in danger. He groan and punch the wall. He whispers to himself " I can't do this. I can't put my family in danger. I need to leave." He waits until he hears Natasha leaves and takes a shower and gets ready and packs some clothes and  starts packing. You had  already waken up  and your mom is making you pancakes. James walks down " Natasha I can't do this. I put you in danger. I have to leave." Natasha looks at James " what? You don't have to leave. We can work through this." He shakes his head "  I'm dangerous! I just hurt you what if I end up hurting Reed and Y/n? I wouldn't be able to live with myself! I have to leave." You look at your dad and sniffle  " daddy you can't leave!" James shakes his head and he quickly leaves. Natasha is shocked and you run after your dad crying at the door." Natasha puts her walls up and runs after you and holds you close as you sob "daddy is gone!" She holds you  and whispers " he will be back. It is ok." She holds you and and rocks you gently " it is ok. I'm here."
