The Red Heart Festival was finally here. Once a year Athens and other cities in the world gather together to share a day of companionship with the people they love. Or in some cases, it is used as a day to celebrate those who are closest to you.
Keenio awaited Princess Veronica in the Great Hall. His dress robes were clean and spotless. He even laid his spooky hair down for this important event.
"Keenio..." Veronica spoke, as she came down from the stairs, "..you look amazing."
"..oh... thank you..."
Keenio turned around. She stood before him. Showing off her dress. It was splendid. The dress was elegant, it hugged her body. The dress was long, it had 3 layers of threading. The outer most part, was a deep beautiful blue, it had golden outlines, and it was similar to that of a jacket, the middle layer was a black dress, it was shorter and had frills, the innermost part of the dress, was a deep purple. It was a dress, far ahead of its time. The dress had no sleeves, nor any pants, she wore leggings, and golden boots, accompanied by white thin fingerless gloves. It's many layers blended beautifully together. The dress exposed her collarbone and shoulders. Keenio was in awe.
"Well it looks like Adonis really did know what he was doing. He really did memorize your dress."
She looked at Keenio on his suit. He had black slacks, and black undershirt on, he looked at his over coat, the blue and the golden outlining matched perfectly, he wore dark brown leather shin high boots, only he didn't have any purple on him.
"Yeah Adonis really made the perfect suit for you"
She blushed and smiled. Keenio offered her his hand, and the front door opened, Keenio guided Veronica to the town square.
Together they celebrated the Red Heart Festival. Veronica convinced Keenio to play carnival games.
Veronica brought Keenio to his first booth set up.
There was a small fenced in clearing. The players are given a cross bow and 3 bolts. Keenio quietly mocked the players. Not a single one of them were as trained as they should be, Keenio thought. He said nothing to them.
"Keenio do you want to try this game?"
Keenio watched the contestants, and their poor obvious training.
"..no... I doubt any of them would be a challenge..."
"..you know... your probably right, well let me know if you see any game interesting to try."
Keenio nodded. Looking around at all the festival goers around him. He saw the couples explore, and try the different festival games. He felt so out of place. They didn't have such easy games in Xenthos.
"..hmm.."
"What is it, Keenio?"
He looked into Veronica's eyes.
"..I'm sorry... this is just new to me..."
"It's okay," she smiled at him, holding his hand tightly.
They continued going through the different stalls at the festival, navigating through the crowd together. Keeping their fingers interwoven.
Finally Keenio found a festival game that caught his attention. A ring toss game.
"What are you looking at Keenio?"
She tugged on his wrist.
"Sorry.. but I think I found a game.."
She saw where he was looking. The ring toss game, where people toss rings around a box like structure, lined with bottles. It seemed to easy. Veronica smiled, and lead him to the ring toss.
